The week went by pretty fast surprisingly. Jake came back to school on Wednesday, and there was still talk about us being "a thing" but that got pushed aside when people began to find out that both of Jake's parents had died in the car crash. It was insane. He ended up getting gifts and cards and about everything else you could think of from people trying to make up for the fact that his parents are gone with teddy bears and gift cards to chipotle.
Real classy.
But for the most part Jakes been fairly distant from everybody, even his little sister Allie who found out about the whole ordeal on Tuesday, but instead of coming to stay with us, Jake and his grandparents decided that it would be better if she stayed with them for the remainder of the school year.So it's Friday night and and Jake, Matt, Alex, Alex's girlfriend, Leah and I were all casually watching tv when Riley suggested the craziest thing I've heard in a while. She wants to go to another party, even though she knows exactly what happened at the last one, but she thinks it'll help us all after the "traumatic" week we've had as she put it.
"Are you insane Riley?" I blurted out. Oops.
"Yeah like really Riley?" Matt followed up with.
"Come on guys, maybe it'll take all of our minds off of some things that have been bugging us, and don't lie and say nothing's wrong. we all have some thing bugging us right now whether you want to admit it or not." She said with a huff.
She's sure as hell got that right.
"How about we do something a little more tame than go to a party after what happened last time." Matt said, kind of trailing of towards the trying to avoid the subject of Jake beating the shit out of my ex boyfriend.
"Well what do you suggest we do then Matt." I butted in.
"Something illegal." He said with a devilish grin plastered on his face.
"Have you lost your mind Matt?" Questioned Alex, he's always gotta be the uptight stick in the mudd of the group.
"No Alex, I haven't," He said pointing towards his head, "See it's right here." A crossed look appeared on Alex's face after Matt said that.
"Okay Matt so what illegal thing would you like us to go do." Asked Jake.
"So you know how there's the golf course down the road right." He said mischievously.
"Oh good god." I mumbled under my breath.
"And you know how I was banned from ever setting foot on that golf course again right."
"Matt just get to the god damn point bud." Barked Jake.
"Okay okay calm your tits there Jake. Any who, like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted." He said with a wink in Jake's direction, "my buddy now works at that golf course and it just so happens to be that I got a copy of the master key, from said friend. So who wants to go break into the golf course and ride some golf carts at 10:48 at night!"
"Dude ! How'd you end up managing that one." Questioned Alex.
"Like I said, I have a very good buddy of mine that I persuaded, with my magnificent way with people." He said grinning proudly.
"Aka you black mail him didn't you." Jake brought up.
"Ouch way to kill my moment Alex." Matt said with a pout.
"So I take that as a yes you did." Jake questioned.
"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." He said with a smirk.
"Okay beside that, are we gonna go do this or what?" I asked.
"Hell ya we are!" Yelled Matt, and with that we were out the front door to our cars and headed down to the golf course, EaglePoint, for a night we probably wouldn't forget.
