It was an unusually cold October morning in Santa Barbara. It was about 13°c (56°f for y'all Americans) out and I was freezing. Fall was definitely here with a bang. But now all I can think about is halloween.

See halloween is the one night of the year were girls can dress, act, or be total sluts without being called out for it or totally gossiped about. I am not exception to that fact. I actually embrace my sluttiness for the one night and which ever halloween party I end up at. Now don't get me wrong, it's all fun for one night but I'm far from being a slut in my usual day to day life.

Unlike Brianna Smith. Let's just say she's gotten it on with almost every guy on the soccer and football team. But that's none of my business.

But to me Halloween was always about the whole holiday, the scary movies, the decorations, the tradition of carving pumpkins you picked straight from the muddy pumpkin patch you'd gone for years to. Yeah it was all fun and games to dress like a total whore for one night but to me, the real fun was everything else.

So I'm sitting here, in my ap chemistry class, off day dreaming about Halloween decorations and what pumpkin design I'm going to crave this year when the worst thing could happen, happens.

"Savannah."

"Huh?" I blurted out. The class filled with laughter. Great, just great.

"What  is the formula for benzene?" Mrs Silverman asked with a smug look on her face, knowing that I sure as hell wasn't paying attention.

Shit. I know this. This was easy for me, it's Chem like common Sav. Think.

"C6H6?" I quietly stuttered out.

"Uh, er correct, Savannah, thank you for the answer." She said almost in disbelief.

Holy shit I got it right. Like damn I guess my brain is good for something other than daydreaming about Halloween and Jake. I just smirked right back at her, you could just tell she was not pleased with me showing her up. And with that the bell to end third period rang. I gathered up my books and grabbed my bag off of the back of my chair before hurrying out to catch up with Riley. But before I could make it out the classroom door a strong hand was rapped around my forearm, and was spun around to see my very angry looking chemistry teacher.

"How about next time you don't daydream in my class Ms Hamilton, and I won't have to embarrass you for it in front of the class?" She bitchily said.

"Well actually Mrs Silverman, you didn't embarrass me at all? Wanna know why? Because I knew that question and you looked like you were pretty embarrassed, and not me," I said with a sassy tone, "So if you don't mind I would like to catch up with my friends before the bell for fourth period goes." And with that I marched my way out of the room leaving her with a dumbfounded expression on her once smug face.

"Sav, Sav, Sav!"

Was all I heard as my seemingly very ecstatic best friend came running up besides me as I was getting my stuff out of my locker to go home.

"Well hello to you too Riley." I said with a laugh.

"Oh shut up. I have important things to tell you!" Riley literally looked like she was about to burst from what ever 'important' info she had to tell me. She went silent as I was putting things away, and I looked over to make sure she hadn't died on me.
