It started the day of Princess Snow's christening. Zora had been chosen to be her fairy godmother. Snow would be getting an ice gem because of her January birthday.
The other princesses weren't very happy. Zoey, Opal, and Valentina (Queen Kara's daughters) were against Lucinda, Millicent, Felicity, and Hattie (King Peter's daughters). Snow was their first half-sister, and the king and queen had only been married a year. Peter had told the girls that he and Kara hoped this new family member would help bond the family, but it was tearing them apart even further. The sisters were now in Lucinda's room, preparing for the christening.
"You think Snow is more your sister than mine?!" Lucinda shouted at Zoey. "Why I never!"
"You probably think you can boss everyone around just because you're the future queen!" yelled Zoey. "You're not even queen yet."
The girls argued on and on until Peter and Kara came into the room.
"Girls!" yelled Peter. "The christening is about to start!"
Everyone filed out of the room, down the stairs, and into a large room, which they used for ceremonies such as that one. There were so many guests. There were dukes and duchesses, friends of the family, grandparents, and nine fairies.
The fairies were a group of fairy godmothers. Eight of them were the fairy godmothers of the princesses and Zora was going to be Snow's fairy godmother.
As the royal family sat down, Zora stood nervously on stage. She had only had a few years of magic schooling and she was supposed to give a magical gift to Snow. Just as the christening commenced, the princesses started to fight again and the king and queen had to take them out in the hall. All of the fairy godmothers went with them to help out except for Zora and her sister Sadie.
"We're all going to help out with the argument," said Collete, Lucinda's fairy godmother. "Zora, since you are needed for the ceremony, I would like you to stay here."
"I'm not going to leave her all alone," said Sadie, Zora's sister, who was training to be a fairy godmother. "I'll stay here with her."
"Thanks, Sadie," said Zora.
When it was her turn to give a gift to Snow, everyone was still in the hallway. She still didn't know what to give her, so she flipped through her spellbook and found a spell that would make it so she could talk to animals when she got older, but it looked so hard and she didn't have anything else, so she tried it anyway.
Zora waved her wand and recited the spell in her head. When she was done, she was surprised to see that the spell had failed and all the guests in the room were now various talking animals. There were mice, cats, horses, frogs, wolves, bears, and more. Zora couldn't find a counterspell and soon the king burst into the room and gasped. He called for the news reporter and some cameramen who had been in the bathroom when the spell was cast and some of his guards. Sadie tried to defend Zora, but it was no use.
"This fairy is downright evil!" he cried.
The news headline was Evil Fairy Caught Cursing Over a Thousand People During Royal Christening. Zora was banished from Norillia for over six years.
Because people thought she was evil and she didn't know if she would ever be thought of the same way again, she decided to be evil. She wanted to get her revenge on King Peter by making sure his daughters ended up living sad, unsuccessful lives. She decided to start with Lucinda and took a job as her lady-in-waiting after going back to magic school during her time away (she now had a total of 10 years of schooling in magic, which was considered a lot). She was back in Norillia with more magical ability and plans for revenge.
