EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

We meet Arjun on our way.

"What are you doing here?" Arjun asks the guy who accompanies me.

"This one asked me the direction for the cafeteria". This guy says.

"Hey Arjun, i was lost in thoughts and i lost my track." I said.

That guy did not understand anything.

"You go, I'll take care."Arjun says and the other guy takes a leave.

"I'm sorry!" We both said it, at the same time. We both laugh. Then, we plan to go out. I am thinking of bringing Tanvi with us. So, I plan to go to her dorm. I knock her door and she answers. 

"Wanna come out with us?"

"Us? Who?"

"Arjun"

"Arjun? That restroom guy huh?" She asks mockingly.

"Yes. Go with us please" I begged her.

She then asks me to wait in the dorm. I the meantime, i called up Arjun and told him to wait for a few minutes. Tanvi has a super powering of getting ready asap. She wears the same black jean that she wore to classes in the morning. She wore a white crop top, the same earrings she wore in the morning and a white sneakers.

We both rush to the parking lot, where we find Arjun sitting in his car, grooving to the music he was blasting some music. I knock on his door and he freaks the hell out. He then stops the song. We both get in his car and he drives to the chocolate room which is  10 kms away. We go there and have fun. Tanvi and Arjun really get together like best friends. I am not the weirdo type friend. I dircovered that I am the control freak friend. We spend an hour there and then decided to go to a movie. I know, so many things in the first day of college, with new people, who I have not even disclosed as my friends, is unbelievable. But yeah, things happen and I love it.
It  11 in the night. Tanvi decided to stay at my place. So Arjun drives us home.

The Next Morning:
I wake up as the bright sunlight from my windows shine on me. I find Tanvi super comfortable here. She brings life to my place. I woke up at 10 and I had to be at college by 9. I totally freaked. She changed to my leggings and was sitting on the bean bag using her phone. The first words that came out of my mouth are "What the fuck Tanvi? We are late"

"From 12 a.m today, it's a lockdown. So no schools, no colleges, all adults have to work from home, we might have online classes which is not confirmed by our college yet. However, I have to go there to pack my things and get the hell outta this city with an e-pass. We have to go to college now. No Uber. Call Arjun and ask him to pick us up by 12. By then, we shall apply for an e-pass. Everything's sorted. PERIOD. "

I felt as if I am dreaming. So no college? Until when? What about my "THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE" days? With all confusions I got to the restroom, took a bath, got ready. My mind is lost in thought whether I should head back home. When I took my phone from my charger, "5 MISSED CALLS FROM AMMA" I keep calm and call her back. She has been the most patient person.
"Hello amma"
"Tara baby, are you coming back home?"
"Uh no mom. Actually, a friend of mine has decided to stay with me. She stays at the hostel. The management wants them to vacate. But the e-pass website is crashed. So She decided to stay here and I'm totally fine with it ma."
"Okay then. Whatever. But take care okay?"
"Yes mom. Sure. I love you, bye"
"Bye Tara."
 
Tanvi is so much confused. She was moved seeing my fluency in cooking up stories.
"So?" Tanvi asks with a confused look.
"You are staying here. We cook up the same story to your parents as well. Period."
"Are you okay with me staying here? But I am not sure if I could share our expenses" She looks so worried.
"We have got this house on a lease. No house owner issues."
"Okay then, which one is my room?"
"Aahaaaaa" I say mockingly and went to pick an outfit. I chose a solid red crop top with black joggers. I paired that with the hoops that I wore yesterday and chose a pair red workout shoes. I felt fancy so I decide to leave my hair open. I got ready. Tanvi prepared the breakfast. She made dosas which are south Indian style crepes made with fermented rice batter. She also made tomato curry for the side. It tastes so good. I ate it and she requested me to do the dishes. I said we'll do it after coming back from college. Suddenly I remember that I never called Arjun. I call him. He picks up the call
"Hello, Arjun is sleeping ma. I'll tell him to call you back when he wakes up. Anything important?" His mother picked the call up.
"OH. Nothing important aunty."
"Then why did you call?" She sounded like an investigator.
"Aunty I'm a freshman and I need some books from him. He told me he'll call by 10 in the morning.  It's 11. So I called now."
"Mhm. Okay dear, I'll ask him to call back" She sounded sweet now.
"When on hell will that guy wake up Tara?" Tanvi is mad.
"Wait, he's calling."
"Good morning, sunshine" He says, his voice full of energy.
"Well, good afternoon, sleepyhead" I answer.
He chuckles.
"If you remember, Tanvi is here at my place. She decided to stay over. Now we want to pack her things up from the dorm and move here."
"I too have some work at the college. I'll pick you guys in an hour and we'll go to college. There, you can pack the stuffs and go back in your car. I am all caught up. Are you okay if I come there for lunch? I heard Tanvi saying you are an awesome cook!"
"I guess we'll head home by 2 maybe. Then we have to prepare lunch. I have to think of something easy. Are you okay with some pasta? Not the store bought, I make it myself and it is delicious."
"Okay, sunshine. I'll be there in an hour."
I hung the call. We had an hour's time . We did not want to waste it.
