TAEHYUNG kept running, searching through the many rooms of this grim building.
She had to be here somewhere, she had to.
His legs were aching, the wounds on his body in several places burning due to lack of treatment and every single muscle in his body felt as if on fire, a result of the continuous sprinting. Taehyung's injuries, if you were wondering, were because this faraway, abandoned place still had tight security. Fighting against them wasn't easy, but his combat skills came handy. He frantically darted through rooms and corridors, looking for her. He had to find the girl.
Unconsciously, his mind travelled to how the whole fiasco begun: to that mellow summer Sunday, a day just before his vacation.
It was break for this regiment of officers. Just as Taehyung had packed all his belongings, his phone rung. He stared at the caller: unknown number, but he knew it very well. His fellow soldiers (also best mates since the Academy), Jimin and Jungkook stared at him, confused as to why their friend wasn't picking up. "Who is tha-", Jimin came to glance at Taehyung's screen and then went instantly silent.
"Why's she calling now? What the fuck she wants now?", he spoke in a stiff, cross tone; he hadn't forgotten Taehyung's condition when she left him.
"Are you going to talk to her?", Jungkook enquired. Taehyung pondered for a while before nodding and walking away to attend to the call. He came out soon, quicker that expected and faced Jimin and Jungkook's questioning gazes.
"She was crying, said she needed help. It's about her daughter.", he replied, looking a little pained after uttering the last word.
"So, will you help her?"
Taehyung nodded. "I told her that I would." Jimin's eyes widened at first, but he kept mum, accepting his friend's decision.
Taehyung sat on the edge of his bed, mind visiting past memories. He'd soon get a chance to see her...
along with her husband and child. An icy knife went through his heart.
The next week, he travelled to Seoul and met his past lover. She put in front of him a peculiar case.
Jisoo had been driving her 3 year old daughter, Sein (pronounced: say-in) to school when she got into a careless accident. She suffered mild concussions to the head and woke up in around five hours. But here was the problem: her daughter didn't exist anymore! No one remembered her.
Jisoo kept insisting she see her daughter, assuming maybe they were hiding her death from her, but no, everyone said she had no child. Even her husband, Seokjin said that in their three years of marriage, they never had children. There were no photos, no records of Sein, anyone would believe she wasn't there. To make things worse, Jisoo's phone was badly damaged during the incident, so she didn't have any personal proof either.
"They're all lying! My daughter was there, she was about to attend her first day of preschool! Something is wrong, I don't know where she is, I'm scared. Please help me, Taehyung.", she pleaded. He nodded and replied with an 'okay, I will'.
Taehyung investigated everywhere, surveillance cameras, shop owners around the school, even the Principal of the preschool, nothing revealed anything new. Jisoo was simply passing by the school, alone when she had a crash. That was all. In the search for Sein, he next met up with Seokjin, to try and see if he would spill something.
He married her, after all.
Taehyung's jaw unconsciously clenched. When he met the man, he said the same: they never actually had a daughter, Jisoo had been acting strange since the accident. Taehyung sighed in tiredness and was about to leave when he heard Jin's voice again.
