Rhea sighs as she looks down at the letter in her hand, how could a mother be so cruel?

Druella Black née Rosier is a menace; everyone knows it. She has never cared for anything or anyone other than herself, her blood line and keeping her bloodline pure.

Everyone knows the horror of Druella, the women the Rosier family couldn't have married off quicker. Rhea and Evan are first cousins yet they never met until they were eleven. They were thirteen when they found out they were first cousins.

Druella and Arthur Rosier are brother and sister yet Druella hasn't spoken to the Rosier family in years.

Rumours always float around about why- no one ever seems to know, no matter how desperately they want to.

The Rosier family are known to be pureblood supremacists but Druella takes it to a new level. She brought shame to them, in ways beyond imagination as only a teenage girl. A mere girl, who was supposed to be obedient and well mannered.

They hadn't wanted such a cruel person in the family, and Pollux Black had wanted to have his youngest son married quickly.

Due to the fact Alphard Black (the oldest) made it clear he hadn't wanted to carry on the family name: refusing to marry and have children. The rest fell to Cygnus.

That's how Cygnus Black married Druella Rosier at the simple age of eighteen, with Bellatrix Black born ten months after the wedding.

There has never been love between the two. And that's where Rhea thinks it came from, her mothers elder brother and sister are different in every way to her mother; leaving Druella as the least favourite of the siblings.

Then her husband could never love her. She's never received love. And Druella has never made a move to learn to love.

Narcissa, Bellatrix and Andromeda fought (still fight) for their mothers love yet it's all futile efforts. And that's not to say Rhea hasn't tried; she has, many times.

Rhea longs for her mother's love and approval yet it never happens. She has never received even the tiniest amount. Maybe it's because Rhea was supposed to be a boy. Druella had been so sure.

Rhea doesn't understand that, if she had been a boy, Sirius would still be heir. Sirius' father is Head of House and so was his father before him. Heirs came from Sirius' part of the family. Druella always seems to skip past that.

Yet Rhea was the fourth and last attempt to have a boy, yet she was a girl. That was her mothers worst achievement (as Rhea has been told by her mother on many occasions).

Druella Black didn't even hold her youngest daughter until she was a month old.

Rhea blinks back tears, why does she ever expect more from her mother?

She needs to stop being pathetic, it was a stupid thought to have. Rhea could have it so much worse like Sirius and Regulus or Pandora.

Yet it still hurts. To think her mother could care or grow to care for Rhea. How optimistic of her?

After her father died, Rhea admits that a small part of her died with him. He was her source of comfort. She misses the small laughs he would gift her or his constant praises when he was among friends.

She no longer has someone to talk to or to tell her secrets to. No one is in the kitchen when she sneaks down at night. No one to tuck her into bed anymore. No one to tell her everything is going to be alright.

Andromeda left merely weeks before father died. Bellatrix was in rage between their fathers death and Andromeda's betrayal. Narcissa acted as if everything was fine when nothing was.
