A Curious Case of Mistaken Identities (Ghkkpm SS)

I am the Father!! 😶

(Sorry for a late update, my dear friends! Please enjoy the story! There may be a slight problem with the story continuity, but I hope you will get the gist of the story! 😇)

They decided to begin their search in hospitals of Mumbai and Nagpur. Since Sai had her college, it was decided that she would stay here in Nagpur itself while Virat would go to Mumbai for a week, on the pretext of his police job. Sai had to look for any health checkups related to Kaku in the year 1996 while Virat would search for babies delivered in the same year whose mother's name was Bhavani Chavan. Pulkit and Samrat had also agreed to help Sai and Virat respectively.

Virat and Samrat set out for Mumbai 2 days later while Sai and Pulkit were already into their search! Kaku didn't care much about what these 4 were up to since she was still upset about her lost daughter and Pakhi leaving the house! Since the Chavans were rich people, they thought of searching only in reputed private hospitals, which, fortunately, turned out to be a good decision! 😅

Virat and Samrat minutely went through every baby's file born in the year 1996, especially in the months of September and October (since this was mostly when Kaku could give birth), in various hospitals! Sai and Pulkit too searched for Kaku's file but they couldn't find any! But finally, both the pairs hit jackpots on the last day! 😎

Virat finally found Kaku's file in one of the top hospitals. This hospital was known to ensure the secrecy of patients, but Virat could easily access them with his IPS tag! What he found shocked him!! He and Samrat investigated further and unearthed many more things about Kaku's baby! He couldn't wait to tell these things to Sai! But he was worried about his family's reaction to what he had found! 😐 He decided to call Sai first.

V: Hi Sai!
S: Hello Virat Sir!
Both: I finally found something!
S: You go ahead Virat sir! 😅
V: No Sai you first! 🙂
S: Well alright! I found Kaku's medical file! Her first checkup was in the month of March. It looks like she had just found out about her pregnancy! But.....
V: But what Sai?! 🤔
S: I.... I also found out that she wanted to abort the baby!! 😕
V: What??!! 😲
S: Yeah! 😥 What did you find out Virat sir?
V: I found out the full on information about the baby! The baby was born in September, and she is still alive!!! 😐
S: Wow!! Really??! That's great! But Virat sir, if we bring her back to kaku, she will be happy right? 🤗
V: That is what is troubling me Sai! I also found out about the father!

Sai could detect a slight curtness and hesitation and even some disgust in his voice. She sensed something was wrong!

S: Virat sir, is everything all right? Please tell me if anything is wrong! 😞

Samrat spoke back to Sai, since Virat was quite disturbed by what he had found!

Sa: Hello Sai!
S: Samrat Dada! Is everything ok? 😟
Sa: Sai, we can't talk about this on phone! Me and Virat will come back by tomorrow morning and then all 4 of us shall talk!
S: Ok Samrat Dada! Bye. And both of you take care! 😇

The next day, all the 4 met up in a nearby cafe to discuss everything they had found out. Virat looked very glum and Samrat had a poker face. Sai and Pulkit had confused looks as they didn't understand why Virat and Samrat were sitting like that. 🤔😐😑

S: Well Samrat Dada! Please tell us what you found out!
Sa: Well, we found out that the baby was born on September 16th, 1996! But the baby isn't dead as Kaku thinks it is. She was given away to an orphanage the very same day!
Pu: How did you find that out? Generally such information won't be on a hospital report! 🤔
Sa: It wasn't in the report, but there was a visiting card in the file. The...father must have left it there! So we went there out of curiosity and found that the......father had been there! The baby was adopted also but the orphanage people weren't ready to share details even though Virat told them that he was an IPS officer!
Pu: Only the actual parents can get the information I think then! 😐
Sa: Ya!
S: But wait a minute! If she delivered the baby in September, then she might have got pregnant in December end or January beginning. But that was around the time Kaka....... Oh my God!!!! 😲😲 Is the baby their second kid then?
Sa: That's the problem Sai! Nagesh kaka is not the father of the child! The name registered as the baby's father is not Nagesh Chavan, but Nishad Chauhan!!! 😶

Sai and Pulkit were flabbergasted! Pulkit consulted Kaku's checkup report again and then noticed the tentative conceived date! It was 13 days after Nagesh Chavan's death! They now understood why Virat was sitting glumly! Kaku had an illegitimate child and that's why she had wanted an abortion!!!! 😮

Sai gently kept her hand on Virat's hand.

S: Virat Sir I am sorry. I was very tactless yesterday. I understand how much respect you have for Kaku! I am sorry I was insensitive! 😔
V: No Sai, please don't be sorry! I want to know why... She had an illegitimate child and know not how she suffered! Is it hurt or betrayal or just a moment of passion? I have no idea what to trust and what not! 😕😞

Sai gently tried to comfort Virat with a hug!

S: So should we tell Kaku about all this? 😕 It would seem very heartless and not very good! 😶
V: No Sai! I want to know the truth! That's our sister out there, and as her brothers, ma and Samrat have to make sure she is alright! If Kaku still thinks she is dead, she deserves to know that her baby, illegitimate or not, is still alive! I am confronting Kaku today itself! Please Sai, Samrat and Pulkit, come with me!😟

They all agreed and left for Chavan Nivas! 🏫

The other family members were all sitting on sofas! Kaku was slightly dull, but she looked OK. Everyone looked up as the four walked in! Ashwini greeted all of them!

A: Oh good, son! We missed you while you and Samrat were in Mumbai! How was the trip? And Sai how was college? Hello Pulkit beta!

They responded with little enthusiasm. 😔

N: Virat, Samrat is everything all right? 🤔
V: Kaku, we have some news for you. The daughter who you thought had died, isn't dead! She is still alive! 🙂

Kaku shot up like a spring on hearing this! Everyone were shocked! 😲 Kaku was carried away with emotion on hearing this!

K (😢): Are you telling the truth Virat?! Is my daughter still alive!!?? Bappa!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Where is she, how is she?! ☺
V: Before that Kaku, please tell me why did you betray Nagesh kaka? 😡
K: Betray??!! I didn't......betray him.....!
V (😡): Oh really??!! Then WHO THE HELL IS NISHAD CHAUHAN??!!! Tell me Kaku!!!

Kaku's face becomes pale on hearing this! She perfectly knows who he is!! She started looking around to avoid everyone's eyes!

Sa: Please tell us Badi mami! Who is he? He is the person registered as the father of your child!!

Voice: I am Nishad Chauhan!!!

Everyone turned to look at that person! It was none other than

A: NINAD!!!!????

(As many guessed correctly, Ninad is the father of the child i.e Patralekha, but even she doesn't know it yet. Even Ninad doesn't know that Patralekha is his daughter! So how will they come to know?? Wait for the next update!! 😅
