Chapter 10

"How did we get here?" Newt asks after some time passed. So I tell him how someone/something saved us from the monster that attacked us, how we got to the hospital and also that I found two people from my past.

"...and at the end of our conversation, he invited us to stay at his place." I finally end my narrative.

"For real? Me too? I completely understand offering that to you. I mean, you're his son. But me? Seriously? I'm a complete stranger?" Newt stuns but I assure that Noah invited him as well.

"Wow" says Newt and I look at him expectantly. What does he think about it?

"That is amazing!" Newt baffles me with his reaction. Where's the enthusiasm coming from?

"Really?" I ask him.

"You don't think so?" He asks back.

"No, sure! I didn't expect you to be as thrilled about it tho."

"I think it's fantastic that you found your family and your past. In my opinion, you should take it."

"Thank you!" I give him a peck. "Thank you so much!" I celebrate and pull him into a longer kiss. "And...you know. Since my father's the sheriff, we can probably also find your family...." I suggest and he pulls me back into a kiss.

Someone knocks on the door and we break apart. I say "Come in." and in comes my father. A smile grows on my face and I greet him with a simple "Hello." Afterwards I look back to Newt and realize that they don't know each other.

"Oh, sorry! Newt, that's Noah, my father. Noah, meet Newt..." I glance at Newt to ask for permission. He understands and give me a short nod and a big smile. My smile grows even bigger and I continue "...my boyfriend and the love of my life."

Noah doesn't even show a slim piece of surprise and goes to shake Newts hand. "Hello Newt, very nice to meet you!"

Newt takes his hand unsteady. "Hello, sir. It's a pleasure to meet you too."

Noah waves him off. "Nah, no need to be so formal. You're part of our family now. Call me Noah." He takes a seat in the same chair as yesterday when I offer it to him.

I wonder. "You're not surprised?"

"Not really, we once had a talk about it. Even though you used it only for a cover up, you were pretty offended when I didn't believe you. After that, it kept being in my head for a while and I came to the conclusion that you are probably actually gay and just didn't completely figure it out. It's possible though that you knew and only weren't ready to tell me. I don't know.... Well, and after seeing you with Newt I knew he's more for you than just a friend. The way you talk about him and even more the way you look at him... It's pretty obvious if you ask me..." He shrugs.

I'm stunned. Am I really that obvious? Newt gives a slight chuckle whereupon I send him a grim look but immediately break at his cuteness. "Well, take it as it comes..." I roll my eyes.

A small silence follows after that where all of us follow their own thoughts. Mine make me ask another question. "Noah? You offered us to stay with you... Is that still on?" I ask.

"Yeah, of course. You're both very welcome to stay with me if you want to. Are you considering it?"

I look at Newt, whereas he smiles and nods. "We would like to stay with you. Thank you for the offer." I express my gratefulness and Newt adds "It's very generous of you. Thank you very much!"

"Don't mention it." He smiles. I grin and look at my fingers. My father's pretty nice.

The sudden noise of an opening door startles me. Okay, no knocking... A nurse comes in and looks weird at us. Her eyes get stuck at Newt and she freezes for a moment.

"Why did nobody tell us, he's awake?! We're supposed to be running tests and look after his health. You aren't allowed to share a bed either. Hush hush. Go into your own bed. And sir, I'm sorry, you need to go now. We're going to take care of their wounds again. No visitors allowed. You can come again later." She drags Noah outside, hushes me into the second bed and calls for two other nurses, one's supposedly a trainee...or well, a greenie.

Newt and I are only able to say a quick "See you later!" to Noah before he's outside. We're able to hear a quiet respond to us before he's completely gone and now we're left alone with three stressed nurses.

Who made them so stressed? For sure not us since we didn't even say or do anything to them. The greenie cares for my wounds and she seems to be very new. She's kinda rough but keeps apologizing every time I make a face.

After some time, they're finally finished with us and leave. I send the greenie a soft smile after they seemed a bit down. I get a tiny smile and a sparkle of confidence back and they leave.

After the three nurses left, I immediately go back to Newt. You can't share the bed my ass. Do I look like I give a shuck.

I cuddle Newt and cling onto him while he laughs but in a fond way. I kiss him and lay my head on his chest afterwards. "Are you tired?" Newt asks slowly and I can feel him laying his head on the pillow. "No." Lie. "Sure." Newt says and I can literally feel his smirk. "Okay, I'm maybe a bit tired." I admit. "Alright." He cuddles closer and it's even nicer and warmer than before. We both drift slowly to sleep...

School's stealing time!!! Period! I feel like I never have time to write, which I hate. I'm also always tired. WHY?!

Sorry for not uploading for over a week by the way. I finished this chapter on sunday and kept forgetting to upload it. Imma try to do better😂
