Zhu's POV
~Three Days Later~
These past days I was with Wuxian and his people I realized why he did what he had, I would've done the same thing if I were him. Saving these innocent people that had nothing to do with the wrong doings of the Wen's was the right thing to do, they had no reason to be killed and beaten. Especially the little boy Ah Yuan, that I've grown very fond of. Watching him walk with Wuxian as we entered town was probably one of the cutest things, instead of looking at Wuxian as an uncle he thought of him as a father, and seeing how Wuxian treated him as his own son was also really sweet.
"Zhu keep up Yuan is getting worried, he keeps looking back to find you," Wuxian fussed at me.
"Sorry, it's just cute seeing the two of you together, like a father and son," I chuckled while jogging up to Yuan.
Binding down and pinching his cheek, causing a smile to spread across his face.
"You're cute Yuan, never change that," I spoke softly with a smile.
With a simple nod he wrapped his arms around my neck giving me a tight hug. Standing as I wrapped my arms around him spinning around, causing us all to laugh.
"Be careful Zhu, you're not fully recovered yet," Wuxian warned taking Yuan from me.
"I know, but I'll be fine Wuxian. I can lift him he's not heavy," I mumbled as we continued walking.
We walked up to a food stand, so Wuxian could look for what he want, while I stared into the distance.
"Where's Yuan?" Wuxian questioned pulling me from the trance the sky had put me in.
Looking down I noticed he wasn't there, causing a bit of panic to brew within me.
"Ah Yuan!" I yelled as I walked through a crowd with Wuxian.
Stopping once I caught sight of him holding onto Wangji's leg while crying. Wuxian chuckled beside me while a smile spread on my face, quickly we both went up to him.
"Ah Yuan, don't run off like that you scared us," I spoke pulling him into a hug while standing up.
Dtying his eyes quickly while he kept crying.
"Yuan it's okay now, you don't need to keep crying. You were scared weren't you?" I questioned while staring at him.
With a simple nod he hid his face in my neck while I rubbed his back calming him down.
"Xichen is here for you too," Wangji spoke causing me to look at him.
"Why is he here too?" I questioned with confusion.
"We're here for a wedding," He stated simply while looking at Wuxian.
"Whose getting married?" Wuxian quickly questioned
Wangji just stared at him with sad eyes causing Wuxian to loose him smile for a moment, before it quickly returned.
"I see Yanli is the one getting married. Is she still marrying that peacock?" He questioned earning a nod from Wangji.
I chuckled softly at the nickname Wuxian gave to Young Master Jin.
"Boys we need to eat, Wuxian you can pay for once for the food,"I chuckled as I walked towards a resturant.
"But Wangji is here," He protested like a child.
"I don't care, you always made Wangji pay, you can pay for once," I spoke quickly as we walked in and over to a table.
Wuxian and Wangji quickly ordered some food and water while I held Yuan in my lap.
"You shouldn't hold him like that Zhu. He needs to learn to sit by himself and eat on his own," Wuxian complained.
"Wuxian hush he is a child, if anyone needs to learn a thing or two it's you. Yuan is better behaved than you are," I spat at him, holding Yuan slightly tighter.
"Quiet while at the table," Wangji stated causing Wuxian and I to both glare at him.
"Wangji I'm sorry," I mumbled while a played with Yuans hair.
Soon the food had come out and we started eating, and I helped Yuan eat as well as wiped his mouth, when Wuxian got a tailsmen.
"Somethings wrong," He spoke before charging out the door.
I quickly followed behind with Yuan and Wangji, as we dashed trough town and back towards The Burial Mounds. As soon as we got there people frantically started telling Wuxian what happened, as dark matter was flying around everywhere. One coming at Yuan and I causing my amulet to come to life and defend us, while I held Yuan tightly. Once the danger was gone it went back into my pouch, but caused me to fall to the ground with Yuan next to me.
"Zhu?" I heard Yuan mumble as he shook my shoulder.
"I'm okay," I mummbled as I closed my eyes.
"Wuxian, somethings wrong with Zhu," I heard Yuan speak with worry.
'Zhu? Can you hear me?" I heard Wuxian questioned as he proped me up on his leg.
My eyes slightly opened as I gave a small nod.
"Go help Wen Ning," I whispered closing my eyes once more.
Feeling myself be laid down gently I heard him run off along with Wangji, while Yuan stayed near me.
"Miss Zhu are you able to get up?" I heard grandma Wen questioned.
Opening my eyes to look at her, I shook my head.
"I have to lay here to get my energy back," I whispered softly while looking at Yuan.
"We'll leave you alone then, come on Yuan," She spoke softly.
"Leave him please," I whispered as I held his hand.
With a simple nod she walked off to join the others.
I kept staring at Yuan as a small smiled formed on my face.
"Yuan promise me if anything ever happens you'll come to me for help, and you'll make sure you stay safe. Promise if you can't find me you'll find Wangji or any of the people from Gusu," I spoke softly while eyeing him.
"I promise," He whispered while hugging me as he started crying.
"Yuan you don't need to cry, I'm fine just a bit weak right now," I spoke rubbing his back.
Soon a man came running into our area yelling about how Wuxian did it, causing everyone but Yuan and I to run out after him.
I laid there with Yuan a little longer before everyone came back and Wuxian came running up to me.
"Zhu you still aren't up?" He questionedhelping me sit up.
"I can't get up yet, my strength and energy hasn't returned," I whispered while looking at Yuan who was crying and holding onto Wangji.
"Zhu, I'll carry you back into town. Xichen has been waiting for you," Wangji spoke softly.
"Wuxian I need my swords from inside," I spoke as he helped me standing.
With a nod he jogged inside as Wangji helped hold me up.
"Here you go," He spoke helping me put the swords around me.
"Thank you," I smiled as Wangji picked me up.
"Please stay safe Zhu," Wuxian spoke as a tear fell from his eye.
"I'll try too, and Yuan remember that promise we made okay. I'll so all of you again some day when things have gotten better in the eyes of the public," I spoke as Wangji started walking away.
Hearing a chorus of goodbyes and see you agains caused a smile to find my face and a few tears to fall. Once at the bottom on the mountain I looked up at Wangji.
"Put me down, just lend me your arm to help me walk," I spoke softly.
He simply shook his head and kept walking, causing me to huff. After a little longer we were at a tavern where the other members of Lan clan were staying. They all bowned to Wangji as he walked in, while most gave me worried looks as Wangji started climbing the stairs. Once upstairs I noticed Xichen waiting by the window in one of the opened rooms.
"Xichen," Wangji spoke as we walked in, causing Xichen to look at us.
"What happened?" He questioned quickly coming and taking me from Wangji, placing me on the bed.
"A disturbance that caused my amulet to show itself to protect me and a child. In doing so is drained my very limited strength and energy, that's all," I spoke with a smile as I sat there.
"Wangji thank you for bringing her back, now excuse us please," Xichen spoke forcing Wangji to leave.
He quickly closed the door the moment Wangji left, before coming and sitting next to me on the bed grabbing my hand.
"I was so worried about you," He whispered while staring into my eyes.
"I'm sorry I worried you Xichen," I mumbled dropping my head.
"Don't leave like that again," He whispered while hugging me.
"I won't, I promise," I mumbled hugging him back.
Xichen pulled away and stared at me before he stood up and grabbed a bag placing it on my lap.
"What's this?" I questioned curiously.
"Open it and see," He smiled while pointing to the bag.
With and excited nodded I started untying the bag seeing different smaller bags, but what caught my attention for the beautiful Gusu colored clothing. I pulled it out as a wide smile spread across my face as I turned and looked at Xichen.
"Were these specially made for me?" I beamed.
"Uncle had them specially made for you, since you will be living at Gusu with my from now on," He chuckled while staring at me.
"I get to live in Gusu!" I exclaimed excitedly.
"Yes you do, but I'll be courting you for the next year before we have to get married, that's the only way you can live there," He spoke while a small smile.
"I'm okay with that, I don't think it'll be to bad being married to you," I chuckled as I placed the clothing next to me.
Slowly I pulled out the other wrapped items. The first item I unwrapped was a small wooden comb that was really pretty. Before I could open the other two Xichen took them and sat next to me. He opened the smaller one first revealing a beautiful blue bracelet that caused me to gasp. Before I could utter a word Xichen unwrapped the larger item revealing a beautiful necklace that had a small locket and jade charms on it.
"Xichen these are stunning thank you!" I exclaimed as I looked at the two pieces in awe.
"Here let me put them on you," He spoke gently taking my hand and slipping the bracelet on my wrist.
I bowed my head slightly as he gently put the necklace on me which caused me to smile some.
"I really love both of these," I spoke giving him a huge smile.
"It's cute how your eyes sparkle with jsut these few things," He chuckled while patting my head.
"These few things mean a lot to me Xichen, really they do. I've never had stuff like this, so it really means so much to me," I rambled out.
"Standup if you can, and I'll help you put on the new clothes," He spoke taking the clothes in his hands.
I slow stood up on weak legs, reaching out to hold on to Xichen before I fell forward. I heard him chuckle as he held onto me so i could slowly take off my old clothes. After I stripped down to my under garments he used one hand to help dress me and the other to help keep me steady. Getting the upper garments wasn'r to bad but as soon as I went to step into the new pants I had lost my balance, ending up in a heap on the floor with Xichen leaning over the top of me. I let out a chuckle as my cheeks flushed red, just the same as Xichen, who took it upon himself to get the pants on me before helping me stand. Once that was done he stood me up and carefully yet quickly put the skirt on me, before sitting me on the bed.
"Thank you Xichen, and sorry about causing you to fall," I spoke chuckling a bit.
"That's alright Zhu as long as you aren't hurt," He spoke with a smile while eyeing me.
"I'm not hurt don't worry!" I eclaimed like a child.
"I think it's time I tell you, we have to share this room that's why the bed is larger than usual," He spoke while looking away from me.
"That's fine Xichen I don't mind. Now I think I want to try to sleep some so my strength can return," I spoke while laying down.
Xichen gave a nod before pulling the blanket over me, going to the window and playing his flute, sending me into a deep slumber.
