[BACK ON THE SHIP]

((STEVE'S POV))

I hear a couple of low-sounding thuds from a nearby hallway; without thinking, I aim my gun and turn the corner only to see one of the tour guide with his arms up like he's ready to punch someone hard.

"What the...?"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Easy, easy, easy, okay?"

"I'm here to help. Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett."

I say to him slowly, to get him to calm down somewhat so we wouldn't be heard.

"It's about time some backup arrived. Boatswain's Mate First Class Ed McKay, U.S. Navy. Retired."

He says as I make sure that there isn't anyone else around in our area.

"You were running a tour?"

I ask him, as he goes on to tell me:

"Yeah. We heard shots fired, and then it was chaos, people running everywhere. I was able to evac most of my group, but a few fell behind, and that lunatic took them hostage!"

"How many?"

"Seven. And he took them that way, toward the wardroom."

Boats said as he pointed to the hall behind me as I then looked down that way to see if it was clear. Then looking back at the map that I have.

"Okay. Good work, Boats. Listen, getting you off the ship right now is going to be too dangerous. Is there a safe place that you can lay low for a while?"

Only then he looked at me like I was crazy as he said:

"I'm not hiding anywhere. And you can put those blueprints away because I'm coming with you. Those are my people that he's got. I walk this ship front to back five times a day. There's not a person alive who knows it better than I do. Certainly not some map!"

I could tell that Boats was still trying not to get so worked up, but if I were in his shoes, I would be the same way; even if it were Margot who was taken hostage, I would do the best in my power to get her back and even the same if it was one of my team.

"Okay. But I say jump, you say how high, you hear me, sailor?"

"Yes, sir!"

Boats salutes me as he says this.

"And stay out of sight, no matter what I do."

"You got it."

((KONO'S POV))

I finally got to talk with someone when I first arrived at the Child Welfare Services center, and I was talking with one of the main workers there about 9-ish feet away from where Lily, Graham's daughter, was sitting on a bench hugging her stuffed animal tightly into her chest.

"Who's going to take care of Lily?"

I asked the worker that was next to me.

"Graham's sister is flying in from Oklahoma. Arrives tonight."

"What about on the mother's side, is no one listed locally?"

"Haven't found anyone yet."

Has she said anything about her mother's murder?"

"Hasn't said a word."

"Thanks."

I head over to where Lily is sitting right now.
