A few days have passed since Abel started his new job and things have been going relatively well, but Angel still won't talk to him. Ever since she saw him in her house with her siblings the other night she has been avoiding him.
He didn't understand why she was avoiding him when he did nothing wrong, but that was the whole problem with Angel. She loved him more than anyone else in the world and he broke her heart, leaving her shattered.
And now he comes back as though he did nothing wrong. It angered Angel to think that the man who played a part in her almost destruction comes back into her life after thirteen years. She tried to be nice and listen to her therapist, but now she wanted him gone. She didn't want to see him again. Angel didn't want to be in the same room as her ex-boyfriend Abel Anderson.
Still, Abel wanted a good enough reason to why she is avoiding him. He wanted an answer from Angel, just as she wanted to be as far away from him as possible. Sitting at his desk in the squad room Abel went over the witness statement from the Homles sister and the ticket stubs they had given them.
Something didn't seem right about these girls Abel and he wanted to look more into it. So, he went back into the family's past starting with Christian Homles and his family. Christian was from an average middle-class family. He studied at Harvard University getting a degree in business, working the wall street and the business ring to make it to the top.
His wife seems to be in the same place as too was from a middle-class family also studying Harvard. The two got married while in their final years of college starting their family soon after. Christian was authoritarian in the family, making sure their image was perfect.
Katherine was the woman of the house being submissive to her husband and obeying every order with dignity and respect. Respect, love, and admiration are what Katherine gained from her husband in their long years of marriage which in turn gained a lot of envious eyes.
Yet, Abel felt the amount of brutality imposed on this couple was more than envious eyes. There was something off with the case and Abel was going to work his ass off to figure out what.
"Abel," Captain Stevens called out for him from his office. Abel looks up to see the captain and quickly closes the case file. He gets upset from his desk walking over to his captain who had his own case file in his hand. "Yeah, captain," Abel answered.
"I need you to take this case file down to Agenlia at the ADA's office," Captain Stevens said, handing Abel the file, but Abel didn't want to go down to Angel's office. He didn't want to be put in an uncomfortable position again, not after what happened a few days ago.
He did want to make the woman any angrier at him than she already is. He didn't want to speed up the time on the ticking time bomb that was Angel. "Sir, no disrespect, but can someone else do it?" Abel asked which confused his captain.
