Percy was returning from his most recent quest. He had to travel through all of the present time pantheons such as the Norse, Egyptian, and Celtic. The goal of this quest was to make sure the Greeks were at peace with the other pantheons and if needed they had allies. To make sure that other pantheons could trust him, Percy was to complete side-quests for other gods and goddesses he met. He would have to retrieve missing items or they would test his physical or mental strength with the toughest training the pantheons knew. He also trained and helped neighboring camps and training grounds of pantheons.
Most gods and goddesses were impressed with Percy. Almost all of the gods and goddesses he helped gave him powers and blessings. These powers included rune magic and Egyptian magic.
As Percy walked through the camp, campers and legionnaires glared at him. Percy felt that something was wrong. He looked around for his friends but he found none. He walked to the Big House and was about to walk in before he heard his name. Percy knows that it was wrong to eavesdrop but he couldn't help it.
"We have to tell him," Percy heard who sounded like Jason.
"No. Because if we're wrong then his heart will be broken for no reason," Thalia reasoned.
"What if we're right?" Nico asked.
"We're not telling him the end of the discussion," Will stated.
After Will's statement, there was more arguing. Percy couldn't quite pinpoint why they were talking about him. But he realized that there was one voice that he didn't hear. Annabeth's.
After looking around the camp again, he decided to go to their special place. Percy found it when he was walking along the beach after lights out. It was far and hidden away from camp. It was a small alcove hidden in the rocks by vines and seaweed. The plants were beautiful and very colorful. They grew wildly but were still uniformed somehow.
Other than Annabeth, no one knew about this alcove. When he walked in, he faced something he never would have expected. Annabeth. His Annabeth, the love of his life, kissing another demigod. Said demigod was a descendant of Bacchus and Victoria, and a roman demigod of Venus. Percy felt his heart drop. He felt his lifeline get ripped away. He felt the world come crumbling down. He was standing there so long that he didn't realize the two girls standing there looking at him. Annabeth looked at Percy with horror, while the demigod, Vivian Starstrum looked at him while smirking. Annabeth's eyes were wide and her mouth kept opening and closing like she was trying to figure out what to say.
"Percy," she said, taking a step further.
Percy turned around and ran out of the alcove. He ran to the hearth where his cousins of both roman and greek descent were standing there with Frank, Will, Piper, and Leo. Percy took out a velvet box and held it in his hand, staring at it.
"What's that for Perce?" Nico asked, making everyone look at him and gasp.
"A sacrifice. To the gods," Percy answered, throwing the box into the fire.
