Danvers Secret Sister

Ch 4

They continue to talk for a while. Lydia is so sleep deprived from the past week that she falls asleep on Natasha's bed while Natasha walked out for a few minutes. As soon as Natasha walks back in, Natasha sees Lydia asleep on the bed

Nat: "aww, Lydia fell asleep. She must be so sleep-deprived. She's been working so hard to impress Tony"

Natasha lays a blanket over Lydia and turns off the lights. She closes the door and walks to the living room where many of the Avengers are gathered

Nat: "what's going on in here?"

Wanda: "Carol is going to talk about her and Lydia"

Tony: "so go ahead, Carol, explain the situation with your sister"

Carol: "okay. So for those of you who don't know, Jordan is my little sister. We don't have the best relationship. Around 6 years ago when Jordan just turned sixteen, I fled. I didn't want to but Kree and StarForce found me again. I didn't want them to hurt Lydia so I fled. I never had the chance to tell Lydia why I ran away. She hates me now, she doesn't even consider me as her older sister anymore. All I was trying to do was protect my little sister from anything that involved me yet it backfired and now she hates me"

She starts to tear up and Wanda hugs her

Tony: "why didn't you tell us about her before? We could have helped"

Carol: "I was afraid. I didn't know if I would put her in even more danger"

Bruce: "Have you tried talking with her?"

Carol: "I did but it just started an argument. I don't know what to do."

She digs her face into her hands

Steve: "you should give her some time. It is the first time she has seen you in 6 years"

Carol: "yeah you're right...I need some time alone"

Getting up, she walks towards the elevator 

Thor: "speaking of lady Lydia. Where is she?"

Nat: "we were talking in my room and fell asleep. She hasn't been getting much sleep because she's been working hard to express someone"

Tony: "Natasha, can you tell her once she wakes up she has the day off tomorrow"

Nat: "okay, I will"

The next morning, everyone is in the living room, waiting for Lydia to tell her side of the story

Tony: "Lydia explain to all of us about your sister. Why do you hate her so much?"

Lydia thinks for a second before she starts to share her side of the story

Lydia: "when Carol left, it was on my 16th birthday. She ran out of the house without saying anything to me. My uncle ran after her but she was gone before he could catch her...we didn't see her for days... my uncle and aunt spent so much time looking for her butt nothing. I was up for a week straight waiting for her to come back home, to walk through the front door but that never happened. I was so upset and fell into depressive state. Carol was my best friend and she was gone, just like that... I'm sorry this is really hard to talk about."

Nat: "take your time" 

Lydia nods and takes a deep breath before continuing 

Lydia: " after 3 months I gave up, I gave up on the idea that Carol was never going to come back home. Since the day we were rescued from our father, she promised me that she would be by my side every step of the way no matter what. that was a huge lie...I learned how to drive without her went on my first date without her. by the time it was time for me to graduate, I was standing on stage, scanning the crowd, hoping I would see her but she was nowhere to be found. that's the day, I fully knew that Carol was never coming home. I went through the past 6 years locking those memories with her in the back of my head. I didn't want anything to do with her."
