Chapter 2 - Thrawn

I was in Commandant Deenlark's office assisting him with the affairs of the Academy. I had managed to currey more favour with him in the month after Empire Day and became his aid. "(F/N)?" I turned around "Yes Commandant?" "Its awfully helpful of you to help me out." "No worries Commandant". "Could you give me your opinion on these 2 new transfers?" He handed me the data pad and I looked at it in thought. One of the cadets was a human, Eli Vanto. But the other was of an alien species: Chiss, called himself 'hrawn'. "I'm worried about this Thrawn, he won't be received well in the acadmey." Deenlark looked at me "Your right, I'll have to keep an eye on him" but then I thought, if I kept my eye out instead I could catch Olbar red handed trying to assult Thrawn and report him to the Colonel. I don't like being a snich but if I be discreet enough I might get away with it. "How about I keep an eye on them?" I said. "That would be most helpful cadet, they are arriving in a minute could you greet them?" "It would be my pleasure Commandant"."Oh one more thing (F/N), ware your red tunic." But before I exited the Commandant signalled 2 shocktroopers fo the Coruscant guard to follow me. I wondered why he wanted me to ware my officer tunic but that was the least of my concerns. I put on the tunic and went towards the hanger, with the Shocktroopers following me from behind.

I arrived at the hanger to see an Imperial Lambda class shuttle making its landing before me. "Attention!" I shouted and the shocktroopers snapped to attention. Then cadets Thrawn and Vanto stepped out from the shuttle. "Greetings cadets, you have just arrived at the Royal Imperial Academy. I must say your transfers were most, unexpected." Then the Chiss started to speak "It was order by one of the higher officers". I could sense that he was lying, it had ordered by the Emperor. "You mean our Emperor." Then shouted at me "How did you know...!" Then the
Shocktroopers raised their blasters. Then he shut up. "Relax, I'm perfectly safe. Anyway, cadets, we are to escort you to Commandant Deenlark's office  This way please."

As they walked the corridors the other readers looked in envy of me as I was escorted by a military attaché. When we entered the Commandant's office I directed the troopers to wait outside. "Commandant, may I present cadets Thrawn and Eli Vanto." Deenlark probed them, and I noticed that Thrawn did most of the talking. "Anyways as outsiders you will be challenged on every front by the other cadets" Deenlark stated. "This is a test" I added "Cadet Vanto has only 3 months of service. That is the time until we all graduate. You have until then, succeed and you will have the rank of lieutenant. Fail, and you will be casted aside." Then Thrawn rebuked what I said by saying "The Emperor may not think so. Then Deenlark commented don this "(F/N) is right, regardless of what the Emperor thinks. And if needed he has the authority to give you a place in the Empire, if you do fail." He then handed Thrawn a lieutenant's plaque before he dismissed them. Then he dismissed me aswell.

I then put on my cadets uniform and headed towards Thrawn's dormitory he will share with the other cadet. He opened the door. "My apologies for putting you in a tight spot, but I will not go back on what I said. May I sit?" "Of course" Thrawn replied. "Why are you here?" Eli said and I replied saying "Because you two are favoured by the Emperor, so am I." Then Thrawn spoke "Then Perhaps you could assist us then. A Cadet Olbar has invited us to the metallurgy lab, most probably to play cards, this afternoon." I frowned "Olbar is a trouble maker, use caution." "If my plan goes south I would like you watching." Thrawn said. "Very well, I'll be there  within the hour"

I headed towards Deenlark's office. "Ah (F/N), what can I do for you?" I asked if a couple of Shocktroopers accompany me. The Commandant obliged and I thundered down the corridor in my jack boots. I waited outside the lab with 2 shocktroopers when Eli came through and nodded towards me. "With me" I said. As we went through Olbar and Cadet Turry looked upon us in fear. Then I looked at Thrawn who had a lieutenant's plaque on. "Is there a problem lieutenant?" "Not at all, cadets Olbar and Turry are watching me demonstrate tactics with cards." Thrawn replied. "Of course, lieutenant, cadets." I smiled, this academy just got a whole lot more interesting.
