You'll never guess what just happened

The days were getting longer, a generous minute or two added each night courtesy of an early spring grabbing the sun by the shirt collar and begging for a moment longer.

This meant, it was still light out when Happy accidentally walked in on Chibs and Juice, and he saw everything there was to be seen while the dark would have blissfully hidden it.

"JESUS FUCK, HAPPY," Chibs roared, trying to pull up the sheet but the damage was done, and the man in question slammed the door so hard it shook the foundation of the clubhouse.

He wasn't sure where he was going, but it couldn't be here, and he just followed his legs where ever they were taking him.

Happy figured that what he saw was a punishment for all the bad things he had done, which was fair, because he saw so much.

The garage had been closed for a few hours by this point, and he paced the entire length of the room, his hand sliding over his head, searching for hair to nervously pull, a long-dead habit reanimated with the power of seeing two of his best friends graphically fuck.

Of course, he knew they were together, and while that gave him not even a fragment of an ill feeling, that did not mean he was cool with seeing what he just saw. It was worse than walking in on his parents, which he had never done because if he was willing to spend a second to think about it, he didn't think his parents slept together after he was born. But he was not willing to spend a second of thought, and he physically shook his head to clear it.

There was hardly a second of hesitation before he was yanking his phone out of his pocket, Sunshine's contact found without even looking.

The stinky garage waited with him for Sunshine to pick up.

"Hey Happy!"

"I just caught Juice and Chibs fucking," he said, without preamble, without hesitation, no greeting, nothing.

He was met with silence.

"I know that you know that they're together," he said, frowning at his choice of words. He felt like a teenage girl sharing gossip with her best friend. Which was fine, he supposed, because Sunshine was his best friend.

"Well, I didn't want to tell you, I wasn't sure how to react, I didn't know how you'd take it,"

"I'm taking it just fine, and apparently," he physically cringed at the memory, "so is Juice,"

"Oh, I didn't need to know that," she laughed.

"Well, neither did I, but now we both do. My eyes are never going to be the same again,"

"It couldn't have been that bad,"

"Yeah? You think? Did you know that Juice has a tattoo of a Rubix cube on his ass? Me neither, until three seconds ago,"

Sunshine laughed harder.

"HAPPY! Wait! Put the phone down!"

Juice and Chibs rounded the corner into the garage, panting more than running required and very haphazardously dressed.

"Hold on a second," Happy said into the receiver with a frown, holding up his phone.

"Please don't tell anyone," Juice asked, big brown puppy-dog eyes wide with panic. "I'll get you free internet for like, forever, I'll walk Onion every day-"

"I"m not going to tell anyone," Happy interrupted, a bit stung. "Well, except Sunshine."

Juice and Chibs looked at each other in shock.

"You weren't calling Jax?" Chibs asked, a little tentatively.

"None of his business," Happy clarified.

"So, you're really not going to tell anyone?"

"Except Sunshine," Happy repeated and waggled his phone at them, already tired of the conversation.

"oh," Juice nodded, scuffing his shoe against the concrete. "And you don't care?"

Happy wasn't sure how the man had lasted so long in the club, wearing his heart out on his sleeve like that.

"Not even remotely," he deadpanned.

Juice let out a sigh and a nod, hands shoved in his pockets to avoid dealing with the way they were shaking.

"Just lock the fucking door next time, for the love of God,"

Chibs grinned, wide and victorious, grabbing Juice's good arm and pulling him from the garage.

Happy pressed the phone back up to his ear.

"How long have you known about them?"

Sunshine, who had undoubtedly eavesdropped on the entire exchange, hummed in thought.

"Since it first happened, honestly. Chibs called me."

"Since when are you two pals?"

"Since I was the one that told him to go for it and sweep Juice off his feet,"

Happy smiled at his phone. "That was you?"

"Nothin' like spillin' your guts to your friend's girlfriend,"

Happy wasn't sure how to feel knowing that Sunshine was to Chibs as Venus was to him.
