When I walked through the apartment door, and into my home. I felt so relieved. It felt like I could finally breathe. Everything felt right when I saw Mom in the kitchen, with her usual apron, making dinner."Hey, Mom." I called out and dropped my stuff at the door and walked over to the couch. Sinking deep into the material. Hoping to be absorbed just long enough to forget the whole internship debacle.
"Well, it seems like someone is tired. I hope that guy didn't work my baby too hard. If he did, let me know and I'll give him a piece of my mind." She loomed over me and rolled up her sleeves to seem threatening. But her expression was a little less than threatening.
"Oh, he worked me to the bone. I can't even feel my legs anymore. I might as well just become one with the couch." I moaned and groaned.
"I set the bath for you already, you should go take one before dinner is ready." She begins to pet my head.
"Thanks, Mom."
"...hey baby."
"Yeah."
"Next week, there is someone I want you to meet."
"Is it another working girl? Mom you don't even have to ask. All those girls are like family to me."
"No... it's someone else."
"Oh." Looking up at her, I noticed that her expression seemed nervous.
"If you're not comfortable or don't want to meet him it's ok. You don't have to feel pressured into meeting him." She begins to play with her fingers. "I just want you to like him as much as I do." Her face relaxes, and a soft smile swarms her face. Something I thought only I could do for her.
"Sure."
"Are you sure? It's ok if you don't want to."
"Mom, it's fine... I'm going to take a bath now."
"Ok baby, just let me know if you'd like a snack later?" I nod with my back toward her. I knew how happy she was about this, but I just couldn't let myself be happy for her.
When I came to class. It was like everything that happened with the villain's attack in the city, never happened. And everything went back to normal.
"Holy crap! What the hell happened to you Bakugou!?" Kirishima and Sero suddenly shout out, grabbing everyone's attention. When I looked away from my conversation with Midoriya and Iida, I saw Bakugou with a new hairstyle. Pfft.
"Stop laughing! My hair's gotten used to this and it won't go back to normal." He shakes from anger. But Sero and Kirishima both kept laughing.
"Looking good over there Bakugou, love the new hair." I tease.
"What did you say? You damn hippie!" He shouts having his hair spike up back to what it usually is. This only added fuel to the hysterical laughter that was called Kirishima and Sero
"I wouldn't edge him on too much if I were you," Midoriya spoke up beside me.
"Yeah, but what's a little harm."
"Good morning." I hear from behind me. When I look back, I see Todoroki looking at me waiting for my response.
"Oh, Good morning Todoroki." It was actually the first time he had properly said it to me. Midoriya, Iida, and I then walked over to Todoroki's desk. It's been a while since I had seen them all, and to be honest. I kinda missed them. It was like after our encounter with the Hero Killer we developed a special bond together.
