Chapter 5
Anastasia’s P.O.V
It’s been a really eventful day. All I want to do is have a drink and go to sleep. I walk over to the refrigerator to get a bottle of water and I notice an envelope on the table. It’s addressed to my mom. I decide to be nosy and open the envelope, inside are divorce papers. At first I’m shocked, but after the shock is gone all I feel is relief. No more fighting, no more throwing glasses at each other in the middle of the night I will finally be able to breathe again. I hear a door open, and quickly shove the papers back into the envelope and place it back on the table. It’s my mom. I begin to make my way up the stairs, but she catches me before I get to the top and calls me back downstairs.
“How was school today?” she asks
“It was fine, pretty boring actually.” I can’t be bothered to tell her the truth, she’s got enough to deal with especially with a divorce on it’s way.
“Okay, tell me if you need anything.” She says
“Mom is everything okay with you and dad?”
“Darling, you know as much as I do”
“Things are going to get better you know.” I tell her. She interrupts me with a hug.
“I love you, Anastasia”
“Love you too, mom.”
Justin’s P.O.V
I wake up in the morning and look at my face in the mirror, I have a big purple mark on my jaw. I’m used to it though, it’s nothing compared to the bruises I normally get. I decide I’m going to go out and do something today, I’m sick of sitting round the house doing nothing.
Justin-“Hey bro what’s up?”
Jack-“More like what’s up with you? I heard what happened yesterday after the fire.”
Justin-“Oh it was nothing I can’t handle. Wanna do something today?”
Jack-“Yeah, Skate park?”
Justin-“Sure, meet you in an hour?”
Jack-“Will I invite Cam?”
Justin-“Yeah, just tell him NOT to bring Gigi.”
Jack-“Haha okay. See you soon.”
Naomi’s P.O.V
As I get out of the shower I check my phone to see if I have any texts. I have one from Ansel telling me that he’s taking me to the cinema. I reply to his text asking him if it’s just us, I don’t want that weirdo Anastasia coming with us. I start getting ready when my phone starts ringing, it’s an unknown number. I answer and I recognise the voice.
Naomi-“Why are you calling me Justin?”
Justin-“Just wondering if you want to go out with your favourite person,”
Naomi-“I already am, Ansel’s taking me to the cinema.”
Justin-“Come on, why are you going out with that douchebag? Why not me?”
Naomi-“Hahaha you’re confident aren’t you?”
Justin-“That’s my name.”
Naomi-“Well too bad I’m taken.”
Justin-“Not for long.”
Naomi-“We’ll see about that.”
I hang up and continue getting ready. Ansel still hasn’t replied, I’ll just have to assume that it’s only going to be us two.
Anastasia’s P.O.V
Me, Thailia, Thea, Lily & Julien decide to go to In n Out for a catch up. I’m glad I have friends I can talk to. I’m not as close to them as I am to Ansel but somethings he just doesn’t understand. I meet them outside and hug them all. We go in and order our food.
“I’m so glad it’s the weekend, I don’t think I could handle one more day of school.” Says Lily
“I know especially with the fire and all.” Adds Thea
Julien walks over with our food and puts it down on the table
“How are you after yesterday?” Julien asks me
“Fine I guess, I’m just glad I was able to clear things up with Ansel.”
“Who was that guy with his arm around Naomi, the seemed pretty close.” Asks Thalia
“I’m not too sure but Ansel didn’t seem too happy about it.”
We continue talking and finish our food.
