A/U: I like sad songs. I like to write sad stories. So, here's traitor, if it were from the perspective of Taylor and Joe's relationship. They're also not famous in this. They're surgeons, yes, this is INSPIRED by of Grey's Anatomy. I'll leave it to you guys to figure out what time period of Meredith and Derek's relationship that this is, but there's a name that should give it away.  Reminder, this was inspired by a couple of episodes of Grey's so it doesn't have the same ending.

Today should've been like any other day, except today was the day that it all finally came to an end. Today was the day that would be permanently engraved in Taylor's mind. Today was the day that her world would come tumbling down. The final segment of a never ending show. Today was the day that she would be moving her belonging out of the home that she had shared with whom she had thought was her happy ending.

Their light had fizzed out over the last couple of years, but it had made it's grand finally within the last month. They had tried everything, communication, short periods of separation, more date mights and vacations, even couple's counseling, but it seemed as if nothing had worked. Taylor worked entirely too much, always tending to the OR and her practice, she wasn't ready to settle down and start a life. She was good at what she did and she loved it. Joe on the other hand was ready. He was ready for the house and the marriage and the kids. He wanted it all. He wanted a life and he wanted it with her. He wanted it to be her, but you don't always get what you want. Taylor could still hear those deafening words ringing in her ears.

"I can't keep waiting around for you to be ready. I can't keep holding onto the idea that you'll change for me, when I know you won't. I'm done."

She didn't want their relationship to come to an end, but she had wondered if it had ever really started. She knew that she was the problem, she knew that she couldn't trust herself to love him. She was afraid of him changing his mind about her and that's what made her want to put a stall on her relationship for so long. He was married when they first met for God's sake, what if he changed his mind about her, like he did the previous marriage? She couldn't bear the thought finally giving her all to him, only for him to just up and change his mind. Running wasn't the hard part, she had watched her father run off and start a new life, completely forgetting about her due to his broken heart. She had watched how her mother had packed up their entire life and run away due to a broken heart. Running was all she had known, so she ran away when it all became too much. She ran away and tried to not look back until she had decided that maybe her feelings would change once she went to collect her items. She had spent the last 15 days away in The Maldives with Gigi, Ed, Abigail, and Aaron. The trip was obviously for Abigail, considering she had been left at the alter, but the rest of the gang had decided tp tag along on her failed honeymoon and the five of them had really needed that getaway, especially Abigail and Taylor. The trip had gave the five of them a peace of mind and they were all able to find themselves. She figured she walk in, proclaim her love, and they'd kiss and mAre up like they always did. Taylor hadn't known what to expect when she knocked on the door, but she definitely didn't expect a slender, beautiful brunette to open the door. She did not expect to see another woman wearing one of Joseph's shirts, one of her favorite shirts, opening the door to the home that they built. This wasn't just any woman, no this was a woman that they had known, a woman that they had worked with often. She was their scrub nurse. Taylor had known that the had been had her eyes set on Joe for a while now, but she would've never expected for him to move on so abruptly. It hadn't even been a full three weeks since she had walked out of their home and here he was, shaking up with some scrub nurse. She was taken aback to say the least, but she didn't want to cause any more drama than what there already was, she had already had enough of that back at the frat house.

"Oh, I didn't expect to see you, Rose. Is Joseph around?" Taylor was trying to be as polite as possible, but this was torturous. She absolutely hated the idea of Joe moving on from her. She knew that it would happen, but she didn't expect for it to happen so sudden.
