Selva didn't feel mentally stable enough to question the force of nature that made him get back to his feet and back to the other two men. It was several minutes before he managed to load an unconscious Albert, who was a couple of times heavier than he was, into the backseat. Selva also managed to help Gugan, who was teetering on the edge of consciousness, into the front passenger seat.
He got into the driver seat and switched on the vehicle.
After a moment of staring at the horizon lifelessly, he turned around and snatched a pack of cigarettes from Albert's pant pocket.
He lit one and gunned the vehicle around onto the main road.
