The next day was the complete opposite of yesterday. The sun was shining brightly and the birds were singing the most beautiful melody.

“Mary. Wake up.” A voice says, coming through the unconsciousness of my befuddled mind.

I mumble a protest, not wanting to leave the warm comfort of the bed for the frosty December air.

“Come on Mary, we have to get ready and leave.”

“Zayn.” I whine.

“No. whining isn’t going to help. And, if you keep sleeping, you’ll miss El leaving.” Zayn says, his voice was low and soothing, as if he were talking to a small child.

That did, however, catch my attention. I didn’t want to miss saying goodbye to El.

Slowly, I get out of bed and step into the chilly air.

“Why is it so cold?” I ask.

“It might be because you’re only wearing shorts and a tank top babe.” He says to me, chuckling.

“Don’t laugh! I didn’t have any more night clothes.” I say sheepishly.

“Didn’t you get your laundry done by the hotel?” he asks me.

“I don’t like other people touching my clothes, especially people I don’t know. It’s weird.” I say.

“Okay, okay. Whatever.”

“Shut up.” I say to his mocking tone.

Walking over to the bathroom, I grab a change of clothes and give him one last glare before I enter the small room.

I take a quick shower to wake myself up and go through my daily routine. Inspecting myself over, knowing I can’t do any better, I leave the small room and enter the bedroom.

“They took our luggage down to the lobby so it can be loaded into the busses. You didn’t need anything did you?” Zayn says, looking up from the smooth plastic of his phone.

As soon as I shake my head, his eyes return to his phone screen.

“Erin?” I ask, taking a leap of faith.

A smile forms on his lips and he nods his head.

“Tell her I’ll call her sometime later.” I say to the smitten boy.

There was a knock on the door and Paul’s head popped into the room.

“We have to get going or else Eleanor will miss her flight.” He says.

Zayn and I simultaneously make our way towards the door. I reach first, seeing as I was closer to the door.

The hallway was quiet and Paul’s disappeared off to somewhere. I think he might be a magician.

“Let’s go Mary.” Zayn says from behind me.

I guess I was too caught up in my thoughts to realize I was blocking the doorway.

 Opps.

The elevator ride down was quiet, seeing that I was immensely tired and Zayn’s eyes were glued to his phone. The elevator dings and we step out into the lobby. If there is one thing I will not miss about Denver, it is that cursed elevator.

Looking around, I spot the rest of the boys off to the side, conversing with Olivia, Eleanor, and Caitlyn. I swat Zayn on the arm and direct him towards his friends.

“Well hello there, sleepy heads.” Niall says, cracking a smile.

“Not me. I’ve been awake since eight. Mary’s the one that refused to get out of bed.” Zayn says defensively.
