Tamara sat on the couch. Slouching lazily while keeping her gaze focused on the medium sized flat screen. It had been two weeks since their move to Belleville and Tamara hadn't stepped out to tour her new surroundings.

Her hand flicked at the remote buttons, changing each channel that seemed boring for her view. It was just her and the now fully furnished home.

"Mara? Are you home?"

Elaine's voice emitted, followed by the door shutting as she made her entrance. Tamara was no longer home alone.

"Yes"

Tamara mumbled, slouching more into the leather comfort before finally settling on a channel. The show played lowly as Elaine walked into the living room.

"I hoped you weren't, when are you going to step outside and take a look at this place.. y'know meet some friends?"

Tamara groaned, adjusting her legs on the couch so she could place them on top of its arm.

"I don't feel like touring this place, ma. I already saw how it looked the day we got here"

Elaine rolled her eyes, walking towards the television and shutting it off. Tamara immediately rose from her rested position, furrowing her brows at her mother.

"Nah, coz wassup?"

Elaine whipped her head towards Tamara, placing her hand on her hip.

"You cannot be spending all your time in the house, mar. I get that the move wasn't easy and you left a lot behind but you're only young once so please, get yo ass off my couch and give the neighbours this pie I bought at the local store"

Tamara sighed, slightly irritated. She shifted her eyes towards the ground, trying to gather the power to stand to her feet.

"Fine...wait- huh?"

Tamara quickly brought her gaze towards her mother, taken back by the last sentence her mother had said.

"What do you mean 'wait huh', I want you to give the neighbours this pie I bought.. hopefully they ain't vegetarian.."
