Eclipse: Nyx's story

chapter 3

"I'm home!" My usual saying as I walk through the door.

There was absolute silence. My mom usually responds back, but she didn't this time. There was nothing just no noise other than the creaking of the boards under my feet. Step. Where am I going! Step. My body's moving without me controlling it. Step. Mom, why didn't you answer me?

"Suprise!"

My heart literally stopped then and there. I thought she'd died or something, stupid paranoia.

"What's this about?" I asked my mom.

"Why didn't you tell us it was your birthday?!" Lucy asked.

"I don't like telling people about my birthday."

(I did this for your birthday coming up Evey!! This is cannon, but also filler.) {Thanks, I Guess......}

"It's ok. I respect that you want your own privacy, but you need friends!"

"No, I don't I'm just fine" I respond trying not to show my embarrassment.

"No, you aren't sweetie you sit up in your room and sulk" my mom responded.

"I do not!" I exclaimed huffing in annoyance.

You see I knew she was right. I did need friends, but I'm not good at making friends.

You see when I was younger, about four or five years old, when most people had an easy time making friends, I had a hard one. I was the weird kid that cared more about the trees instead the newest episode of My Little Pony. {I still watch this lol} (Even though I showed you Attack on Titan?!) {yesssssss! It is my childhood} Being seen as the weird kid did hurt at first, but after a while, I got used to it. Now you may see this is a bad thing, but for me it wasn't. I was happy, of course back then almost anything made me happy, to just be by myself playing with the frogs in the pond at my old preschool. {My turn to make the reference.... baby Tsu was her best friend lol} (You make her sound like Levi mixed with the world of My Hero) {That is not my fault Morgan you do most of the writing} (I just wanted to make another reference.) {I know}

My mom has feared my anti-social self because making friends only gets harder. Instead of wearing skirts and dresses, I wore dark jeans (She wears a Horse face?!) {No, the denim ones} and a T-shirt. Instead of wearing girlie shoes, I wore old beat-up sneakers and combat boots, though sometimes high heeled. All in all, I was a misfit no matter what I did. I tried to fit in once, it was awful, I don't recommend it.

{Now back to the present. I honestly got off topic there} (Nah that helps me a lot.)

"Fine I'll give it a try but if it doesn't work, I get to tell you I told you so"

"Ok but I'm pretty sure this will work" my mom said with a knowing smile.

That smile confused me honestly. You see when she gave me that look, I knew something was going to happen. She gave me the same look on many other occasions such as when she told me I would fit in at the nature club back home, or when she told me I would fit in here. Both times she was right, I just didn't know until now.

"Sorry about that Lucy, Jacob." Is all I could say after the embarrassing moment with my mom.

After opening gifts and eating some cake Lucy and Jacob then left to go back to their houses and mom and I were left cleaning up the mess that was left behind.

"I know you don't like people Nyx, but you'll see it'll all work out in the end"

"But I don't want to."

"But you need to" she replied "you'll see why soon"

Said that last part very quietly, obviously thinking I couldn't hear.

That night, there was an eclipse, of course, I didn't think much of it. (Lol. She's oblivious to what's coming) {The best protags are} Though in hindsight I probably should have thought more of it. {Therefore, they say hindsight is 20/20}

As I started to fall asleep, I had another one of those strange dreams and when I woke up......

(Man, the best things have happened to me lately... what about you Evey?) {No not quite other than I get off quarantine soon} (When you come back to school, you'll see what has happened while you were gone.) {Should I be scared} (Not yet) {...... I'll take that as a yes}

unknow pov:

"You lazy idots!"

"Sorry boss."

"The eclipse is here. We must capture the eclipse wolf if we are to change the world." 

Lupas pov:

"The eclipse is coming Nyx... and when it comes, you'll understand. I don't want you to get hurt. Make good choices. Just know that I love you and I always will."

(I love my life. But when I hit rock bottom it hit it hard.)
