When I woke up Sanha was no longer here, not that I really expected him to be, but Myungjun was asleep on the armchair across the room. He seemed peaceful so I left the room instead of messing with him.
I walked down the hall and into my own room as I did my daily routine before showering and changing into one of the graphic tees Rocky bought me, along with a black pleated skirt that stopped at my knees. I also threw a black trench coat on top because it's been colder lately.
After slipping my red high top converse on I was ready for the day.
I left my room, heading down stairs as I walked into the kitchen.
"Oh, Moonbin.." I sighed, trying to grab a glass, and quickly realizing I couldn't reach it. "Here,"
He reached over me, grabbing the glass as he handed it to me. "I didn't need you,"
"It seemed like you did." He said as I rolled my eyes, pushing past him as I set the glass on the counter before grabbing the orange juice out of the fridge. "I hate you,"
"Eunji I had nothing to do with what happened to your mother. Whatever mixed up story you have in your head isn't true. I was there to save her. And everyday I have to live with the reminder that I was the one that failed to protect her. How do you think that makes me feel?" He asked as I sighed. "I didn't think about that..."
"Look, I might not have been able to save your mother, but I want you to know that I would give my life for you. Whether you hate me or not." He said, placing his hand on mine as I smiled. "Thank you Moonbin.. And I'm sorry I didn't trust you. I guess I was just upset." I sighed as he smiled, pulling me into a hug. "It's okay, I get it. Your dad pushed it to the side and based on what you heard, you needed someone to blame. I just so happened to be that person."
"If my dad gets out of hand will you step in?" I asked as he nodded. "I know a certain weapons specialist that will be there as well."
"Rocky?" I asked as he nodded. "Good, he'll be a big help."
I then poured some orange juice in my glass, putting it back in the fridge as I turned back around, meeting eyes with my father. "Good morning."
"We have rules to keep if you want to tour this school." He said as I sighed. "So you're not gonna say good morning back?" I rolled my eyes, taking a sip of my orange juice as he stayed quiet, "Forget it. Be ready to leave in the next ten minutes. I'll be waiting outside."
He then walked out as Moonbin followed, leaving me with Rocky.
"What's his deal?" I asked as he sighed. "He's still pissed since someone took a step too far last night." He said as I pouted. "I was just trying to get him to be more open. I wasn't trying to piss him off."
"You're gonna keep pushing him and when he tells you to fuck off you're gonna be hurt. I'm not gonna do shit about it either."
"Oh come on Rocky! Why is it so hard to get close to him?!" I yelled as he grabbed my chin between his index and thumb, making me look him in the eyes. "Because the last person he got close to died. He doesn't do close relationships. He's afraid of commitment, even if that means loving his own daughter. It's okay though, because whenever you need him and he isn't there, I'm always going to be there."
I didn't realized I was crying until he lifted his other hand to wipe my tears. "Gongjunim uljima.." He hugged me, resting his head on top of mine as I sniffled. "Thank you Rocky..."
