NINE; The Rabbit: Part two

~Hatsuharu's POV~

I felt really bad for what I had done yesterday. Y/n didn't deserve that kind of treatment at all, but I had to do it to protect her. I needed to put some space between us. I had to, and that's why I patched things up with Rin. I had to.

Because I was starting to fall for Y/n.

She was a wild card. The most normal, down to earth, not in your face person unlike some people I've met. 

The girls in this school, half of them are out of their minds. They go insane just from hearing about the Souma name. They screech, and it's annoying.

But Y/n. She's calm, and has her priorities straight. And she took finding out about the secret so well. 

And damn, she's so cute. Her smile is contagious, and her laughter sounds so adorable, and...

No, stop. I can't think about her like that. To involve he further into this curse would be dumb as hell. But, Rin, I don't have to risk more than I already have had to. She was my first love after all.

Rin and Y/n, two complete opposite sides of the spectrum. 

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door. I had been laying in my bed the last few hours just staring at the ceiling, so maybe it's good someone is here to take my mind off of Y/n.

Opening the door, I was met with Momiji, and his eyes were swollen red. It was obvious he had been crying for a while now.

"Hey, what's going on?" I stepped aside, and he walked in. Motioning for me to close the door.

"I...was trying to find the best way to tell you. I don't even know if you care." 

He...sounded kind of pissed at me..? 

"Dude...what's going on?"

He took a deep breath, then turned to me. 

"Y/n. You said you didn't want to speak of her anymore, but luckily for you, you no longer have to worry about it anymore."

"What on earth are you talking about?"

"She got her memory erased."

It felt like my heart stopped. My eyes widened as I watched more tears fall down his cheeks.

"What...why...?"

"Because of you." 

My heart stopped again. I didn't even know what to say, so I just watched as he put his hands against my chest and gently shoved me.

"She was with me yesterday when I called you. You took her, made amazing memories with her, then stepped on her heart! This is your fault!"

"I..." I took a few deep breaths. I was trying my best to tame Dark Haru from coming out. I didn't need him taking out this anger on Momiji.

Some time passed, and he eventually left. He said he needed to tell the rest of the family, those who had gotten to know Y/n. 

A few minutes passed, and everything went dark.

~Y/n's POV~

Everything felt hazy. I felt like I had been asleep for two days. Maybe a month. I don't know. My body just kind of felt...off.

I sat up from my bed, groaning from the sudden head rush. I pressed the hands to my forehead, sitting forward to let the rush pass. 

Why did I feel like something was missing? Like I was forgetting something super important.
