Ara's pov
Shibuya was pretty packed. I wasn't too surprised since it was coming up for rush hour so the streets were filled with people heading home from work and students wandering about. Mishima was holding onto the cuff of my blazer so we wouldn't get seperated in the crowd. He turned towards a Diner on central street, stopping at the entrance to look at me. I nodded, following him up the stairs to the diner. We got seated at an open table. I placed my back down on the seat next to me before turning to look at Mishima. He placed his own bag down, looking up towards the rest of the diner than back to me. I tilted my head down fiddling with my hair.
"So.... other than Volleyball, got any hobbies?" his eyes lit up.
"Oh I really like coding. I'm still improving but I'm getting really good at making full websites. Once you get your head around the script and different phrases you use then it does become easier" I was a little surprised. It wasn't common that someone who did sports also did things like coding. Or at least I'd never met anyone who did. But then again I don't talk to a lot of people often unless I have a script to follow so that might explain it. Mishima quickly shuts down.
"Sorry. I got a bit carried away" I shook my head.
"Its fine. I don't mind listening" I give him a smile. He looks up at me, reaching up to push a strand of hair from his face.
"Do you do anything?" I blink.
"Yeah...." I trailed off. He looked at me, not saying anything.
"Oh right. I'm supposed to say what they are. Sorry. I'm terrible at this stuff" I leaned my face into my hand.
"Its ok. You can take your time" I take a deep breath.
"I do dancing, singing, acting and musical lessons" I pull at my thumbs.
"Wow. That's a lot. How do you find time to do that?"
"I have specific time blocks during each day for stuff. Right now is my music block. I practise for 2 hours" Mishima's eyes went wider than they already were.
"I didn't mean to keep you from your practise. I'm sorry" I shook my head.
"If anything this is a nice break. Besides I'm starving and could do with something to eat" As if on cue, a waiter came over and handed us both a menu. I smiled in thanks before turning to look at the menu. Mishima gave his a quick once over before putting it down.
"You already know what you want?" I blinked in surprise.
"I come here often so I know what I like. Have you never been?"
"I don't recall coming here. Its cosy. Usually my mum takes me to those big fancy places when she has enough" He lowers his gaze.
"So if you have such a rich family why come to me?" he wasn't making eye contact.
"I never said that. Did I do something wrong?"
"Well. You don't really come to places like this so you must be wealthy" I shook my head.
"My mum is just insistent that I should get used to the fancy places cause that's where I go when I actually have a career. I didn't want to upset you" he blinked before shaking his head.
"No its ok. I just assumed" it went quiet. The waiter returned to our table with a notebook and pen.
"Are you ready with your orders?" Mishima nodded while I still looked at the menu, scrutinizing it.
"C-can you give us 5 more minutes?" the waiter nodded before walking away.
"Is there something wrong with the menu?"
"No its just. I don't know if I should get something nice for myself as a treat or not"
"Well this is a treat so why not" he shrugs. I lace my fingers into my hair.
"I guess you're right. I think I have an idea now" I placed the menu down and looked around. The waiter noticed and approached. We both ordered our choices. I turned to Mishima.
"So.... think we could... Maybe exchange numbers.... Like what friends do" I looked up at him. His face lit up.
"Yeah. I wasn't sure if you wanted to" I pulled out my phone, opening up my contacts. I turned my phone, showing him my number. He typed it into his own phone.
"So I'll message you later then" I nod with a small smile. The waiter returns with our food. I hesitate for a moment before digging into the food, falling into some small talk with Mishima.
