It's 22nd September, the day before Shu's birthday. Though he is a very calm-looking fellow who doesn't care about birthdays that much, well.. that's how it looks like from outside. However, under the covers of his mature and calm attitude, like all other teenagers, he was excited to get wishes. At least, the wishes reminded him that they care about him.

11:45 pm.
Shu had finished all the chores for the day long ago. Usually he goes to bed at 11, always maintaining a healthy routine.

Today, he got ready for bed as usual but ended up lying on the bed, changing sides and shifting to different positions to find some comfort for the past 45 minutes... unable to sleep. 'Am I waiting for 12 am to get wishes? Nah, I'm not kid!' Shu argued with himself for the 20th time at least.

He laid flat on the bed staring at the ceiling and let out a sigh. 'Then why can't I sleep?!' He growled turning to his left as he reached out a hand to grab his phone resting on the nightstand. He pressed his little finger against the fingerprint sensor as the home screen flashed in the dark.

'11: 48 huh?' He sighed, 'only 12 minutes left. Guess, I can wait a little rather than trying to sleep'.

He actually couldn't sleep because he was excited, but didn't know the fact himself or maybe... he knew it quite well, yet didn't want to admit it. Deep down, he's still a child, maybe a lot more childish than his friends.

He got up and lit the lamps since it's bad for your eyes to use the phone in the dark. He opened the chatting apps to check if there were any new messages.

'90 unread!?'

He clicked on their group chat to read the texts. A smile instantly flashed through his lips while reading them. As usual, Valt and Honcho spamming in the group chat and Wakiya and Lui screaming at them to stop along with the dangerous cursing when they both ignore them and spam even more.

Shu laughed softly at the chaotic situation. He liked to see them like this. He often wondered if Valt and Honcho really stopped annoying them, then, maybe even Lui will feel lonely without any chaos.

"Last text at 10:30", he muttered subconsciously, yawing against the back of his hand. Glancing at his phone again to check the time, he couldn't wait anymore. Just 1 minute to go!

The albino scooted backward and leaned against the headboard drawing his knees close to his chest. As he waited eagerly for the passing minute, memories of his previous birthdays flashed through his mind.

The clock ticked by and touched 12 revealing the start of a new day. Shu eagerly stared at the screen, excitement filling to his guts. 30 seconds passed, no messages but he didn't lose hope. 'They remember it, I know.'

12:01. No texts.

12:05. No texts, no wishes. 'maybe wifi problems,' He thought. He could wait a little longer.

12:15.
Still, no wishes. The smile on Shu's face started to fade out tugging away the remaining hope.

"Do they really not remember?," whispering sadly, he put his phone away and wrapped his hand around his legs, resting his chin on the knees. "I hope they do, I'll wait a little longer," he sighed closing his eyes.

12: 30. The phone pinged. A wave of hope and happiness crashed Shu as he quickly grabbed his phone to check the notification. "50% discount on men's underwear?" First he looked confused and sad but in the next second, he yelled, "Hell ya! I don't need it!!"

Shu threw his phone away somewhere on the bed and buried his head on his knees again. He was sad and exhausted, yet didn't want to sleep without any single wish at least.
