Chapter 10

* Samantha's POV*
My jaw dropped as we entered the beautiful dancing area for prom. There was a huge chandelier above the dance floor. There were tables covered in white silk and white chairs outlining the floor. There was a DJ area at the end of the floor. And, a huge snack table with a punch bowl in the middle. The snack table had to be at least 8 feet long and 3 feet wide. I already spotted Niall there, and so did Harry.
He laughed and said, " That's the usual Niall." I giggled. We all decided that we should go and sit for a little bit before we did any actual dancing. We all just started talking, " So... I broke up with Eleanor two days ago." Louis said. MacKenzie's mouth dropped, " Oh. I'm so sorry that you had to do that." She said. Louis shrugged and replied, " That's what she gets for hurting my friends." Me and Harry smirked and did a small high five under the table.
After a few minutes of talking, mine and MacKenzie's favorite song came on... Uptown Funk. We stood up, dragging the boys with us. We all then just started dancing weirdly. After 4 songs, we decided that we should take a little breather. Harry and Louis left to get me and MacKenzie some punch. " I'm like.. nervous. For some apparent reason." I said, showing MacKenzie that I was shaking. " What are you so nervous about??" She asked. I shrugged and replied, " I swear I don't know. I just have a feeling that Harry's gonna ask me something tonight." She laughed and her phone buzzed. She whipped it out and she saw that it was a text from our parents. " What does it say MacK??" I asked, curious. MacK sighed and replied, " They want us to be home by midnight or else."
I took out my phone and checked the time, 11:45 pm. Only 15 minutes until midnight. I sighed, " We have 15 minutes." MacKenzie groaned. Harry and Louis came back and we all drank our punch. Then, a slow song came on. Harry looked at me, " Will you have this dance with me?" He asked, holding out his hand. I smiled and replied, " Why of course." I gladly took his hand and we started to sway. I glanced over and saw Louis and MacKenzie swaying too. " I think Louis is planning on kissing her tonight." Harry said, catching a glimpse of them. I giggled and replied, " I totally agree."
We continued and then, I caught a glimpse of the time, 11:57pm. " Sam? I have a question to ask." Harry started. I then replied, " Harry... I-I got to go. Our parents want us back by midnight." Harry nodded and I left to get MacKenzie. I grabbed her and said, " MacK, it's 11:59.... We gotta go. Now." MacK and me had to leave, quickly, leaving the boys behind. We found that our security guard was there, waiting for us. He opened the door for us to the car, and we hopped in. I sighed, " Why so strict. Harry was about to ask me something." MacK also sighed, " Louis and me were about to kiss." I looked over at her and hugged her. " I'm so sorry boo. I didn't know." I apologized. MacK shook her head, " It's not your fault. Mum and dad wanted us home at a specific time." She sighed. I looked down and my eyes widened, and I gasped, " Oh no!!!! This is bad!!!! This is really, really bad!!!" MacKenzie looked over at me, her eyes widening, " What is it!?!?" She shrieked. A stray tear escaped my eye, " I was wearing Nan's charm bracelet and I forgot all about it at the dance!!!!!!!!" MacKenzie's mouth dropped. She then replied, " Here. I'll call Louis and tell him that you forgot a charm bracelet and he'll bring it to us tomorrow." She opened her little bag and her mouth dropped again. " Fuck!!!! I left my phone at the dance!!!!! MY LIFE IS ALL ALONE AT THE DANCE!!!!!" She sobbed.
I put my hand on her back and said, " Here. I'll just call Harry to get the bracelet and your phone. Okay??" MacK nodded. I took out my phone and tried turning it on... but it didn't turn on at all. I groaned, realizing that my phone just died. " MacK... my phone's dead." I sighed. MacKenzie shrieked and almost fainted. Well, this went from a beautiful and amazing ..night... to a shitty night.
