November 2, 1991; Breakfast timeToday's the first quidditch match of the season, and Harry will be playing the first time. It's a bit cold today, so I'm wearing my favorite brown sweater and a pair of jeans. Letters start coming in as the owls arrive. This time I only have one letter, most likely from Remus. I decide to wait and read it later, so I stuff it in my bag. I hear excited voices from the Gryffindor table and see Harry's got a new broom.
"How come Potter's allowed to have his broom? He shouldn't even be able to be on the team." Draco hisses out from beside me, and I shake my head lightly. "I don't know Draco.." He finishes his breakfast in silence, and I sigh quietly. After a moment, I get up and walk over to the Gryffindor table to join them. The twins see me walking over and smile at me. I smile back, and when I get to the table, they let me sit in between them.
"To what do we owe the pleasure, Rae," Fred says, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
"I just wanted to sit with my favorite redheads," I say back to them.
"Hey, what about me?" Ron asks further down the table, causing the twins to laugh.
"Don't worry, Ron, you're one of my favorites. Oh and Harry, good luck today." I say, and Ron smiles satisfied while Harry thanks me. I continue to talk to Fred and George before the game.
At the game
After breakfast is over, I walk towards the Quidditch pitch with Charlotte, who met up with me as I was leaving the Great Hall, when Hermione walks up to us. "Raelyn! Hey, uh, do you want to sit with Ron and me at the game?" She asks, and I grin and almost say yes, but I look at Charlotte. She sees this and nudges my arm.
"Rae, you can sit with her. I'll go sit with one of my other friends" She laughs and walks up the stairs to the Slytherin stands. I smile and look back at Hermione.
"Well, let's head to the stands then. I can't wait to see Harry and the twins play." Hermione smiles at me, and we start walking to the Gryffindor stands. Before we get to them, though,h I see Fred coming towards us.
"Hey, Lyn, wait up!" He says, jogging to us to get here quicker, I stop walking, and Hermione tells me that she'll save me a seat.
"Here, I figure you don't have any Gryffindor things." He holds his hand out, and it's just now that I notice he has a Gryffindor scarf.
"Is this yours?" I ask him as I take it out of his hands.
"It was, but you can have it. You'll need it to show your support for your favorite redheads." He smiles and ruffles my hair a little. I blush and push his hand away, smiling back at him. "Well, thank you, Freddie. I'll cherish it forever. Now go get ready to win." I joke, making him laugh and nudge me before running off to the player area. I put the scarf around my neck and walk up into the Gryffindor stands. Hermione waves me over once I've reached the top, and I walk over to her and Ron.
We sit down towards the front of the stands to get a good view. I see Hermione look at the scarf and back up to me with a smile, raising her eyebrows at me, making me blush again. "Is that why Fred stopped you?" She asks, and I nudge her shoulder.
"He just wanted me to have something Gryffindor," I mumble, and she laughs.
As we watch the game, everything seems to be going well for Gryffindor until Harry's broom starts moving chaotically, causing everyone to be alarmed. Hermione is looking around through some binoculars when she gasps quietly.
