sunflowers

It was overwhelming laying your eyes upon it. No words written down could describe the beauty of this. An endless flower field of sunflowers, poppies, and tall grass as green as can be. They mimicked the wind in a dance under the moonlight. The warmth made it feel like daytime though.

My hands ran through the unshaved grass feeling every strand swipe by. The dirt under my feet, soft and soiled, sunk deeper into a comfortable blanket. The consistency wasn't bad, it was like stepping into a pool of warm sand without any branches, seaweed, or rocks.

In front of me laid only the sky. No mountains on site, buildings, or even trees. No noise of birds or cars passing by rang through my ears either. The only noise was the wind and grass brushing against each other. And the only thing in sight was the grass and thousands of blossoming flowers.

Upon plucking a flower for myself, I smelled the lavender scent it carried with a sprinkle of a tangerine scent. It soothed my nostrils moving on to massage my mind.

The field looked ethereal. It was glittery like a fairy had sprinkled their dust upon it. And it gave your eyes a moment to relax and for your mind to calm down. It was a quiet place to hide with no ringing in your ears, talking or city noises. It didn't reek of smoke either.

My feet grounded themselves as if scared I were to magically disappear. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if this happened to be a dream. It was too perfect, too beautiful and magnificent to be true. The scents had a taste and the sight had a way of calming my mind in an instant.

It was like God's creation. A piece of land kept undiscovered.

I could, and would, dance in the fields freely. Nothing to trip me, nothing to hit, nobody to judge. The air was mine, the ground was mine.

My voice was mine and my legs were mine.

Wherever I walked was truly my decision and the dirt greatly invited every movement of my petite and pale body.

It was never too cold nor too warm.

During the day the sun shined brightly upon my flesh and the breeze kept it from burning it. And during the night the grass kept me warm while the zephyr went to sleep and the night sky kept me cool.

Food was stumbled upon always finding grapes, tomatoes, or other fresh fruit and/or vegetables to eat. They were never ripe nor rotten. Just the sight of them could make even a meat lover drool.

Water was found from lakes. Lakes so seethrough you could see the sand sitting at the bottom and the fish swimming by happily. The water was fresh with a clean smell and sweet after taste.

For eternity I could stay like this. Making myself a crown of flowers and calling this land mine. Nobody was to disrupt it, I lived in mere peace. Every day was an adventure even though there was nothing to explore and every day was my happiest even though there was nothing to be happy about.

Forever and ever my home.
