Normani swung her legs as she sat on Namjoon's bed. He was at his desk checking over her essay intently. Seeing as Jooheon couldn't provide her with anything of substance, she had to do some digging of her own damn self. Thing is, Namjoon is a very private person. He had 4 posts on Instagram, which are all old pictures. He uses twitter but not enough for her to find out anything too serious and then he was so busy, when they were together he was very direct and it was hard getting him on a tangent at all. In the past two weeks the most she's found out was that he's single, his favorite snacks and he snuck in hermit crabs in his dorm.
"Mani this essay is pretty much solid and very well written," He turned to her and smiled. "What's the real reason you're bothering me on the one day I'm not busy." He teased as he handed her back her laptop.
"First of all, thank you for reviewing, second of all you asked if I need help with anything, and third...well I was actually at the library with my friends but when I left to go to the bathroom they were making out so I let them be." She made a face as he laughed.
"It's not funny! I mean are the study rooms really that sound proof or is that a myth the school told to trick us?"
He nodded as he leaned on the bed. "Yeah, they are pretty sound proof. But you can hear if something bangs on the wall to be honest."
She gasped slightly as she leaned in a bit. "Oh my gosh...Namjoon you tried them out?"
He laughed as he stretched. "The study rooms no, but other parts of the library, yes."
"Liar! How does that make sense?? You don't go to the one private place in the library?" She giggled.
"I like the echo." He replied. "Of course it's usually after closing, but nothing beats being loud like that after being quiet for most of the time."
Maybe it's the way his eyes were locked on her, or the topic of conversation but something in her stomach turned and she could feel heat rushing to her cheeks.
"Interesting." She mumbled as she looked around the room. She wondered where his favorite spot was, who he was with, what he was like at that moment. She'd put her money on him being the type of partner to talk you through it.
When she looked back at him, there was a smirk on his lips. "Look at you thinking about it. Shame on you." He teased with a chuckle.
"Wha- you're so gross no!" She lied as she rolled her eyes. God her whole face was hot she needed to leave before she got herself in more trouble.
"Anyways, thank you again for helping me." She slid off the bed "I'll see you Fri-" Namjoon grabbed her arm gently.
"I'm hungry."
This simple statement sent chills through her body. She blinked at him a few times, trying to calm herself down. This was it! Her fantasy of him throwing her around like a rag doll and fucking her sensless was really about to happen.
"Well what do you wanna do about that?" She smirked.
"Mmm, maybe the cafeteria? Actually wanna grab food off campus?"
And just like that her bubble was popped, he sucked the sexy right out of her and she had to stop herself from screaming.
"Yeah," she forced a smile on her lips. "Let's go, I'll drive."
He let go of her arm and she wanted to cry. "Yeah, give me a second." He clicked his tongue as he grabbed a sweater. "C'mon."

They decided on Cheesecake Factory and Normani looked around the dim restaurant every now and then.
"Have you never been here before?" He half laughed. She squinted at him and laughed.
"Boy please, I'm practically a regular." She placed her menu down. "I'm seeing if Jooheon is here."
Oh that name. He liked Jooheon, he really did, he just didn't like that he was dating the girl he liked. But of course they'd date, they're very similar. Jooheon isn't a boring nobody and probably likes doing all the things she likes to do, like dance and party. That's probably why Jooheon didn't question him about them walking back together, he knew Normani wouldn't take a second look at him.
She stops a waitress to ask if her boyfriend is here and Namjoon has to force a smile when she says yes. He comes by shortly after greeting them both as he slides in next to Normani.
"God it's like I can finally breathe oh man," Jooheon exhales. "How are you today Normani?" He rests his head on her shoulder.
"I'm ok, Joon was looking over my paper and we got hungry so we came here." She lightly tapped his cheek as she rested her head on top of his.
As they talked for a bit, Namjoon tried his best not to look. If he focused on the menu maybe he wouldn't be so jealous.
"I gotta back, I'll see y'all later, oh and don't worry about the bill I got y'all. Bye y'all." He kissed Normani's cheek and patted Joon's shoulder. "Take care of her for me."
"Bye Honey." Mani waved. He could feel her eyes on him, so he brought the menu higher.
"Namjoon?" She reached over and lowered the menu with her finger. "You good?" She giggled. "You're gripping that menu for dear life."
"Hmm? Oh sorry, I'm just indecisive about what appetizers to get." He cleared his throat as he put the menu down.
"How long have you two been dating?" He asks as nonchalantly as possible.
He isn't expecting her to laugh but there she was, laughing so much she stopped buttering her bread.
"Dating? Him?? No no no." She waved her hand. "Jooheon is my best friend. We literally grew up together. He's like my older brother. Well now technically like my cousin because he married my cousin." She flips through her phone and shows a picture. "That's my cousin Fatou, she's actually in Korea right now as a trainee. But last summer we all went to Vegas and they got married. Nothing big but they just wanted to say they were married on paper."
She smiled fondly over the picture. "I wanna love like them one day. Be that young and know exactly who you wanna spend the rest of your life with. I can only imagine."
She sighs dreamily before putting her phone away. "But yeah no, Jooheon and I never even thought about dating. Matter of fact, that asshole told me the only reason he tried to be close with me is because he knew Fatou came over every weekend and wanted to play with her." She giggled.
Whatever surge of jealousy that was running through Namjoon subsided at the news. He had to drink to try and hide his grin.
"Oh," he mused. "Interesting."

Normani smiled as she crept back in her dorm. Ryan watched with skeptical eyes as Normani hummed to herself.
"Helloooo Ryan." She sighed dreamily.
"Hi?" Ryan laughed as she put her book down. "And what got you all happy?"
Normani smiled as she packed her shower caddy. "Ryan...all I'm gonna say is I have my eye on a man and I'm gonna get him." She smiled proudly.
"Whatever you say Mani." She giggles as she shakes her head.
Normani peeked at her phone and smiled at a text from Namjoon.
She sighed dreamily as she grabbed her towel. Her plan of leaving the laptop was a success and soon he'd be right where she wanted him
