Don't Make A Fool Of Yourself

Hi I have a bunch of motivation rn from reading fanfiction so let's hope this chapter doesn't suck like the last one

Firey was on his way to the beach again. Unlike his room at home, the beach was more of a safe space for him. And no, it wasn't like he had any home problems, he just found being somewhere other than home more comforting. He dropped his backpack on the hot sand, and sat down quietly. It was sunset in about an hour, so he had some time to do some work before it got dark.

"Now...how should I talk to Leafy...what should I even say?" He asked himself, while staring at the waves. The way they moved calmly around this time, it helped him have a clear mind. He pulled his notebook out, jolting down some ideas. Thinking of what Flower had told him earlier that day, one thing stuck with him.

"Hang out more with her."

"What could we even do?? A movie would make it obvious I'm asking her on a date...what could I come up with to make it seem like I'm just asking to hang out as buds?" He stared at his blank notebook, hoping something would come to him...when suddenly, it hit.

"Of course! how did I not think about that?" He started writing in the notebook quickly, grinning. Taking his phone out, he made a call to Flower. As he excitingly waited for her to answer, he quickly packed his things so he could hurry home.

"Firey? What's up?" She finally picked up. Firey began to explain his idea on how to hang out with Leafy, how he came up with the perfect idea to have them hang out together without it seeming like a date. Flower happily said the idea would work, without a doubt. Once he got off the phone, he was already hitting send to the message he was sending to Leafy.

Leafy and Coiny were both laying on Leafy's bed, talking about the fair. It was just mere days away now, and the 2 friends were excited. According to Teardrop, there was going to be way more festivities this year than there was last year. Tons of games, way more food stands, just to name a few. As they were talking, Leafy's phone buzzed on the dresser. She reached over, taking a glance. Her eyes widened as she noticed who it was, feeling her cheeks blush faintly.

"And that's why...Leafy? Are you even listening? Whatcha looking at? I wanna see!" Coiny crossed his arms, sitting himself up from the bed. Leafy had a huge smile on her face, Firey finally texted her. "Uh..." she started, "Firey invited me to hang out with him at the beach party on Friday...should I go?" She turned her attention to Coiny, who was thinking.

"I mean...I guess? is it like a date thing or...? Because if it's a date, definitely not. You know how he is." Leafy shook her head. "No...he said I could bring some friends along, and that it's just to hang out." She stared at the phone, slightly disappointed that it wasn't a date. She didn't let her expression show, Coiny's notorious for noticing small things like this and putting 2 and 2 together. She looked at him, to which he was thinking. Finally, he smiled.

"Ehh sure. Why not? If it's just a hangout, there's really no reason not to go. Can I bring Pin along? It's been a bit since her and I talked...or really hung out for that matter." Leafy nodded happily, and swiftly replied to Firey.

- I'd love to hang out! Coiny and Pin are coming along as well. Can't wait!

As soon as she hit send, she felt a huge rush of butterflies in her stomach. She smiled at Coiny, who was on his phone now texting Pin. He put his phone down, and smiled at Leafy. "She'll be there too." He beamed. Leafy could've sworn she seen him blush, but she was more focused herself on thinking what she'll wear, what she'll bring.

Firey stared at his phone, reading the message over and over. It caught him by so much surprise, he kept reading it, thinking it was just a dream, or he had texted the wrong person. But no, he wasn't dreaming this time. Leafy really had said yes.  He felt his blush on his cheeks. No doubt about it, he falls more for her day after day. He looked up at Flower, who had come over to his house just in case she declined and he had another meltdown. "Soooo???? What did she say? It's hard to tell by that expression of yours." She smirked, she knew what the response was already, she just wanted to see Firey get more excited and happy."

"S-she said she'd love to...but..." Firey ran his fingers through his hair, looking down. "But what? Remember, this isn't a date to her, this is just a hangout between friends. What could go wrong?" Firey took a deep breath, looking back up at Flower. "A lot of things. I don't want to go and make a fool of myself...what if I say the wrong thing to her? Or even worse, just make a complete fool of myself?" As things kept rushing to Firey's mind on how everything could go wrong, he felt a pair of hands on his shoulders. Flower gave him a patient smile, and had him sit down so he could calm down faster.

"Firey...listen. While yes it's true many things could go wrong, I can assure you, everything will be fine. Don't overthink this, it's just a hangout, not a date, not a proposal, just. a. hangout. Just be yourself, and remember, if you start to screw it up, I will be there to help you. Ruby and I are going, did you forget?" Firey shook his head. "Exactly. Don't let this stuff get to you. Now, let's go get something to eat, I'm starving." Firey chuckled, standing up. "Is all you think about food?" Flower snickered. "No! I just haven't eaten today!"

Friday

"I don't think I can do this." Firey said, standing a bit away from where Leafy was sitting on the sand. He felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. Flower and Ruby both stood next to him, urging him to go. "Dude. you invited her. Not us. You need to go ahead of us." Flower sighed, starting to lose her patience. She was ready to drag Firey through the sand if he didn't start moving anytime soon. Firey shook his head. "What do I even say to her through?" Flower and Ruby groaned. "Maybe a hello? How are you? How was your day? How's the fair planning coming along?" Ruby said, getting impatient herself now. She just wanted to go make some sandcastles now. Flower grabbed Firey's wrist, starting to pull him along. "W-wait!" He whisper yelled. "I'm not r- Hey Leafy! What's up?"  He finished confidently. Leafy looked up from her book, and smiled brightly at Firey. "Oh! Firey hey! I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up!"

"What? Nahh I would never! I just ran into...a bit of traffic on the way." Flower waved to Leafy, and started chasing after Ruby, who was running towards the water. Coiny and Pin sat next to Leafy, who were both talking to each other nonstop. Firey took a deep breath to himself, he had to talk to Leafy. "So...how's the fair planning coming along?"  Leafy shrugged her shoulders. "I don't handle the planning or making of the fair, I just came up with a booth idea. From what I know though, the fair set up is coming along nicely. How's track going? Having fun?" Firey nodded. He absolutely hated Needle as his captain, but other than that, he loved it. "It's pretty fun."

Leafy nodded, and the 2 grew silent. What to say now? Not only was Firey thinking this, But Leafy as well. "Do you want to go get something to eat really quick?" The 2 said at the same time. They both froze for a second, before laughing. The 2 got up, and Leafy turned her attention to Pin and Coiny. "Do you guys wanna come with?" She asked. The 2 shook their heads. "Nah, maybe later." Coiny said. Pin nodded in agreement. "Alright! Then we'll be back in a little bit." Firey said, starting to walk off. Leafy ran to catch up with him. The 2 felt happy to be able to spend some time alone together, even if they couldn't tell the other that. Over and over, they continued to tell themselves as they made their way to a nearby restaurant,

I'm not into object shows anymore like at all, but I do have fun still writing these books. Sooo here you go you Fireafy shippers. Your food.

I really wanna write a Pokémon Fic but at the same time like idk if anyone will read it

It would be based on SoulSilver, a Kotone and Silver shipping thing because I refuse to believe Silver isn't slightly interested in you in the game.

Maybe I will write it, see what happens.
