Only a minute ago, there was us.
It was a bonfire on a cold night,
And we were merry as always.
Teary-eyed, we giggled and rolled over. There were pills, there was blood, there was rum and we could hear the screams.
There was me and there was you behind the mask that made you my hero.Suddenly, the weather felt harsh against my skin.
I smelled danger but your kisses were so gentle and reassuring.
Then the knife, I felt it pierce through.
Blurry, everything seemed to fade.I tried to shout, I must've lost my voice.
I tried to jump, but gravity couldn't promise me forever.
I tried to fly, my feet felt rooted to the earth. Then I tried to dive into the sea,
But you kept pulling me back to its shore.
Screaming, "hold on, don't let go, love."
"You saved me", she said.
But we both know, you owe me the peace I think I truly deserve.
