Megan POV;

Anna and I walked down the streets in the town next to where we were staying. There were a lot of food places and Anna couldn’t decide where she wanted to go to before we went to the bookstore and back to the cottage. “They all look so good.”

Anna complained. I looked at her, looked at the three closest food joints near us and walked over to my favorite little place. Amato's. Anna looked at me a little strangely but followed. She walked in and started to laugh. “This looks exactly like a Subway would.”

I rolled my eyes. “You don’t understand, this is better than subway.”

We got our ginnies and walked out to the picnic table right there and started eating. I watched as Anna took her first bite automatically agreeing. “You’re right, this is better than Subway.”

I smirked, “Trust the pregnant lady, I’m usually always right.”

Anna rolled her eyes, when we were done all we had to do was cross the street to get to the little local bookstore they had. I went my opposite way from Anna as I looked around. I automatically went to the crime drama finding some James Patterson books to read. It was a tradition at the cottage that I read at least one every time I went up and this time it would be James Patterson’s Alex cross novel “Cross Country.” I looked around some more grabbing a journal to collect my thoughts together while I was staying here and went up to the front counter where Anna was conveniently checking out.

She looked at the stuff I had in my hand and laughed. “Have you finally run out of room in your song journal?” I nodded lying so she didn’t know what I was actually doing. We left the little book store and we walked around aimlessly trying to find our car. Turns out it was in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Up Egypt Rd led us to the road that connected us to our cottages road. Getting there we pulled down the dirt road to endure the quietness we had been looking for. We parked on the top of the driveway because after close experiences going down the hill to park wasn’t that much fun.

When we got out of the car we heard, screaming? Coming from right down the steps. I knew previously there had been a day care next door that the children there would go onto the property but that had been closed for years. That’s when I heard the scream. “Juliet, you are going to die!”

It was Ryder. I know my son’s voice anywhere.

“Can you calm the fuck down; you do not want to ruin your mothers surprise do you?” Another scream this time from Shaylin. I immediately wondered how she knew I was here then I remembered, Aiden.

I walked down the stairs to the cottage and around it to see all four of my children. Juliet and Ryder were in the middle of the lake swimming after each other. Andy was with Colette, who was in a floatie, in the shallow area. And Louis was on the floating dock, laying down tanning. Louis? Why was Louis here? “Tomlinson!”

I yelled from on top of the stairs that lead down to the water and I had all four children and Louis looked at me. Some habits are hard to get rid of. “Your father.”

I yelled again and the children went back to what they were doing.  Louis looked over to me and smiled before dying off the dock and swimming over to the shore, grabbing a towel, shaking his hair out and walked up the stairs. “So nice for you to finally join us on this family get away.”

“How and why are you here?” He sighed and I knew he was going to be sincere.

“Harry had the text from Anna when I was over their place; we both knew what was happening so I called Aiden and asked where you were. He told me and Shaylin caught me and told me to take her along because she could help you hear me out and because technically I guess you told her if there was another Paris situation that you would bring her along too. I came because I realized how crappy I was to you and how much I loved you. I pretty much know that it is too late for me to come crawling back and ask for another chance because I know that even in the beginning you probably wouldn’t have given me a second chance. But I can’t go on living knowing that you hate me. You mean the world to me; you’re my children’s mother and my first love. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I know forgiving me or at least as much as you can I know it will take a while but I just want to be friends at the very least. I can’t not talk to you. I know you are having a baby with Alex and that I don’t really like him much and you’re probably falling in love with him; I just want you to know I will always be there for you. Till the day I die.”

I listened to every word he had to say. Thing shocked me. I went to say something and he stopped me before I even could. “I’m not with Eleanor anymore. I promise. If you need to can we go talk on the boat or in the cabin. It’s weird having your two best friends and our kids eavesdropping on us.”

I laughed a little and smiled. “Get on the paddle boat idiot.”

He smiled. He knew that trusting him completely wasn’t going to happen right away. But if he wanted to try to then I wasn’t going to stop. He wanted to make things right, as much as he could and she thanked him for that and for trying. Maybe getting everyone here wouldn’t be so bad. “Megan come on! The paddle boat might take Colette soon if you don’t hurry and come here!”

This would be fun.
