Were they mad with Gary? Maybe a tiny bit.
We're they going to do something about it? Nope!If anything, only the adults of the crew were the only ones to do something and that was complain to their captain.
Bartolomew sat on the sand near the bonfire, hand resting in cheek as he listened to Clarance and Biskit complain about what Gary had just done.Just like everyone else, Avocato had put on the tunic- but unlike the others, he wasn't having much fun.
Rolling his eyes, he watched the many gypsies dance while the other group of pirates were sat together drinking and laughing loudly, his crew joining in the festive mood by eating the food or dance along with the others, each celebrating the wedding (or just here to party)
A group of little girls giggled as they ran past Avocato, seeming to be carrying flowers they picked nearby. They spoke in a language he couldn't understand so he wasn't necessarily interested until-
"Oh-- you want to put that in my hair?" A familiar voice said nervously, causing Avocato's ears to spin toward that direction before he finally took a glance.
Sat surrounded by a few girls was the human seeming a bit nervous at the attention that he was getting probably due to his bright colored hair, most gypsies of this species are alien like or have dark hair- so it might be the kids' first time seeing hair like his.
It was...quite a scene, the ventraxian found himself unable to look away. Gary was awkwardly trying to fix the white tunic he had changed into but even so he made sure to smile softly at the girls who wanted to play with his hair.
His hair was down and Avocato was reminded of freshly made honey as he looked at it shimmer with the setting sun's light.
It was almost like staring into a painting, Gary's golden hair being styled to have crown made of braids and flowers as he was surrounded by the children- seemed a lot like those pictures of goddesses surrounded by little angels. When the music picked up, one of the girls began on pulling Gary's hand, the others joining in.
"Want me to stand?" Gary asked, despite them being unable to understand. Even so, Gary stood, letting the little ones pull him towards a circle some formed around the fire.
"Captain! Are ypu even listening?!" Biskit blocked his vision "Captain?"
Avocato stood suddenly with a serious look in his eye, making his way towards the circle and standing next to Gary - the little girls far too afraid of him to do anything about it even if they wanted to stand next to the human.
They looked nervously at Avocato's eyepatch but even so the ventraxian, for once, didn't care because"Lad! You're dancing you?" Tagnag, the old alien they met in the tent, was standing on Gary's other side. Bartolomew still saw him as a threat, he was...too nice. So he decided to keep a close eye on Tagnag, he wasnt going to let him do anything to the human that saved his crew.
"Yes" Avocato's answered seemed to come out with an hiss
"No way" Gary snickered "I thought you couldn't dance" he gave a teasing smile
Avocato didn't have the time to reply but only huff as the others began to move when the music reached a certain beat. It seemed to be some sort of traditional dance so Avocato and the others who were dancing as well, tried the best to copy it.
A certain part began to play and everyone started turning to the person to their left- Avocato turned, hoping that Gary would be to turn to him but alas, the sequence wouldn't match- meaning that while Tagnag would be with Gary, Avocato had to dance with...
"Hi" he said awkwardly to the girl besides him, regretting his decision to take her place because all the girl did was stare at his eyepatch then scream and run away.
Behind him, was snickering from none other than the human who was holding back a laugh. Is this what Avocato deserves for looing out for him?
"Tagnag" Gary smiled at the old alien who nodded in understanding
"If the man wants to dance so badly, let him dance" the alien shrugged "I've had enough dancing in my day" he laughed loudly, leaving the circle
The ventraxian watched with slight wide eyes, Tagnag was the reason he was here in the first place. If he wasn't here then he can leave--
"Come on" Blue eyes met his. Before him Gary held up his hand, palm facing sideways as it was needed for this dance, he had a soft smile instead of a teasing one for once and the ventraxian found himself nervous under his gaze.
Having his previous partner runaway wasn't nice, so to save the embarrassment for Gary, Avocato decided to stay.
Awkwardly, the ventraxian placed his palm on Gary's, the other arm behind his back like Gary was doing. He then began stepping to the music just as Gary did, pulling away only to spin when everyone else did which gave them a change to exchange their hands.
If Avocato was distracted by the other from afar, being close was a total different thing. From here, he could see Gary's peach colored lips and rosy cheeks, his blue eyes reflecting the light of the fire and how long his lashes were-- Which were weird things to notice, right?! Why was he noticing these things? It's weird. Stop
Uncomfortable as he was now aware that he was pretty much just....staring at Gary, Avocato tried to force out conversation
"Your hair--" he chocked out "its nice"
Great going Avocato, you made it worse for yourself. Why a compliment? Why?
"Oh--" Gary blinked, seeming to be taken aback by the compliment coming from the other- which was understandable, Avocato isn't like this, why did he do that?
"Thank you" the other looked away as tucked his hair behind his ear, the earring he wore dangling and shimmering due to the fire nearby as his cheeks began growing more red.
The silence between them became uncomfortable, their palms clamy and far too hot to touch
"Let's go drink?" Gary blurted out, needing to leave the situation
"Absolutely" Avocato didn't hesitate to answer back quickly
"Cool" Gary nodded, leaving the circle
"Mhm" Avocato hummed back
