Katie, her friend Kacy, and her family were on a cruise ship in the waters of the
western part of the Caribbean. Her, Kacy, and her brother were chilling out by the pool.

"Hey Katie," my 15 year old brother Max told her, "I'm going to go back to the room to try to find Mom."

"Okay, just make sure not to get lost." I said, while chuckling to myself. "God Katie, how old do you think I am?" Max said, while running off.

I returned back my book. I was laying out by the pool on a chair with the sun shining down on me and honestly, it felt amazing.

"How's the book so far?" Kacy asked, even though I've read this almost 10 times and she asks me every time. "You know, as good as usual" I answered.

I then went back to reading and was just starting to get to a good part in the book until a shadow fell over me.

"Hey, isn't that Gulliver's Travels?" The guy said. I looked up into a pair of green eyes.

"Yeah, how'd you know that?" I asked him. He took a seat next to me while I looked over at Kacy who was staring at me. She mouthed "Get it" to me.

"I guess you're not the only one that has a good taste in books." He said, laughing to himself.

"Yeah, I love this book, but a lot of people don't want to read books from the 18th century" I said sadly while he and Kacy just laughed.

" I know, it's a shame," he told me. "Oh my bad. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Holden."

"Nice to meet you Holden. My name is Katie and this is my best friend Kacy." I said. Kacy and Holden then shook each others hands.

That was when I got the first good look at him. Honestly, I don't think I have ever seen a better looking human being in my life. He had striking green eyes matched with brown hair that was messy, even thought it still managed to look good.

Holden wasn't in bad shape, either. He was in his swimsuit, so I got a good look at his toned chest and muscled arms.

"So Katie," he said, drawing me out of my day dream, "How are you liking this cruise so far?"

My face lit up in a smile. "Honestly, this is one of the most gorgeous places I've ever seen. I've never been out of the country, so I'm glad I get to be here."

"How about you?" I asked.

"It's great so far." He said with a smile on his face. We sat staring at each other for a few seconds, until I asked, "Do you happen to know what time it is?"

He looked at the watch on his wrist "5:54", He told me.

"Shit. We need to meet up with my family for dinner at 6." I said in frustration. Kacy and I started packing up are things.

"Then you better get going" Holden said to me. "It was to meet you Katie and you too Kacy." Then Kacy and I both answered together "It was nice to meet you too."

"Maybe we'll see each other around." I said, shyly. We turned and started to walk away. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding.

I heard him mumble under his breath "Hopefully."

Kacy looked over to me and said "Looks like someone has the hots for you." "Does not" " Does too" "We dont need to be arguing about this right now Kacy, we need to be there in 4 minutes.

"Race ya there?" She asked me and took off running. I thought to myself "How did I ever get her as a best friend " as I took off running too.
