- August POV
I woke up to the smell of food being cooked downstairs, I rose from my bed and head to the bathroom to clean up. Last night ran through my head as the hot water poured down onto my body, just the thought of me and Whitney kissing had me feeling sometype of way. Done with the daily routine, I thrown on a pair of basketball shorts and a muscle shirt and head downstairs to the dinning room. Kayden was at the dinner table with a plate full of food with orange juice on the side.
"When did yah get hea?" I asked confused as hell.
"Grandma dropped me off, she had somethin to do." She replied with a mouth of food. "Daddy, I like her." She sallowed then winked at me.
"Girl, eat yah food." I shake my head at her and see Whitney whippin up in the kitchen. "I love a woman who can cook." I announce wrappin my arms around her slim yet thick body.
"I love a man who can eat." She replied flipping over four blueberry pancakes in the pan. "Grab us two plates." She stated taking cooked bacon from another pan.
"Yes ma'am." I say softly smackin her juicy ass and heading to the glass cabinets.
We made it to the table as Kayden got done with her food, she put her dishes in the sink and went up to her room to play with her Bratz Dolls. It silent for a minute until Whitney spoke.
"I have to leave soon." She sounded as if she didn't wanna go, which I didnt want her to either.
"You have a dance session?" I asked thinking she had to meet up with Dream Squad.
"Nahh, I have a few classes plus I have to go to work." She replied and I nearly choked on my pancakes. "You okay, August?" She asked as I sallowed hard.
"Yea, I'm just shocked. I thought dancin was the only thing yah got poppin." I said honestly as I drank my orange juice.
"It's hard juggling dancing, working and school; but I'm up for the challenge. I go to AMDA college for my Bachelor's and I work at Forever 21 at Sunset Mall." She said and I was very impressed.
"I like that lil mama, outchea grindin for it all. I respect that, just remember you can always hit me up." I said in a smooth tone as we continued to eat.
Once we were finished, it was time to say goodbye. I grabbed her things for her as she changed back into what she wore last night, Kayden ran up to Whitney at the door almost in tears.
"Yah leavin?" She asked with puppy dog eyes.
"Yea, Kay. Don't worry I'll be around soon." Whitney said as they hugged and she kissed Kayden's forehead. I handed her the duffle bag. "I'll be sure to be in touch." She said looking up at me.
"No doubt, I'll be waitin all day for yah." I said as I kissed her cheek and she walked to her car, got settled and drove off. I closed the door but heard Kayden cryin.
She was on the couch snifflin like I ain't hear her, I walk over to her and hug her tight. "What's wrong, babygirl?" I asked.
"Mommy left." She said and I put two and two together, she bonded with Whitney. "I know she's not my real mommy but it felt nice havin her around, the other kids make fun of meh cuz Ion have a mommy." She cried into my chest as I held back my own tears. "Why can't I have a mommy, daddy?"
- Whitney POV
When I got home, I quickly took a warm shower and got dressed for work, I sent August a quick text saying I had a good time last night as I walked back to my Lamborghini and drove off to Sunset Mall.
"Hey gurlll." My gay friend/ co worker Roman greeted me as I walked into Forever 21. He was putting on clothes onto a manikin.
I laugh softly. "Hey, Roman." I said as my phone vibrated and I knew it was August.
Yungin- Me 2 beautiful, can't wait to see u again. Now go get yah money
"I saw your performance the other night." Roman said as I counted all the money in the register so far for today.
"You were there? Why you ain't tell me?"
He struggled with the manikin's panties. "Gurlll, niggas be broke asf. I begged my sister for me to tag along and I was peepin on you and August." He said finally slipping them on. "Found you a keeper, bet his stroke game A1." He said licking his lips.
"You are too much, he dont rolled that way."
He looked at me with his hand on his chest. "Do you know how many straights I turned gay."
I laugh at his nonsense as I flipped the signed from Closed to Open. Before I know it teenagers came piling in to buy the latest trends, all I saw were dollar signs to be honest. A couple of hours later, it was near my lunch break when a delivery man came inside with a dozen white roses.
"These are for Whitney Hope." The man stated as Roman and my other co workers Tre and Kelly eye balled me and the roses.
"Umm thank you." I said as signed the release form for the flowers. "Just put them in the back, there's a door with my name on it." I told the delivery man as he went to the back.
"Girl, who sent you those roses?" Roman asked as all four of us went to the Food Court.
"Right? I didn't even know they made white roses." Kelly said before she walked off to the Taco Bell stand.
We each went our own ways; Tre went to Chinese Yin, Roman went to Orange Julius and I went to Chick-Fil-A. We went back to our tiny offices in Forever 21 and that's when I read the note that came with the roses.
I send you cream-white rosebuds with a flush on its petal tips; For the love that is purest and sweetest has a kiss of desire on the lips. - Yungin xoxo
I honestly can't deny the goosebumps on my skin or the smile along my face, never has a guy made me feel this way expect for Anthony. I really like August but it's best if we both take it slow, but it's nice to know we both feeling each other. I decided to call him and after three rings he answered.
"What's poppin, beautiful?" His strong New Orleans accent always made my knees weak.
"I love the roses, Aug." I said as I knew he was pleased with himself.
"You just ran through my mind and wanted you to know that, sweetheart." He said as I smiled from ear to ear.
"Well that is very sweet of you, my break is ending but I'll call once I'm off work." I said regretfully as I wished we can talk for hours.
"Aight, luhh. I gotta head to studio anyway. Make that money, Whit." He said as he hung up.
Something about him just brightens me up, but it's hard to know how he really feels...
