- Whitney POV
It's been a few weeks since I quit my job at Forever 21 and started on my music, it's been a while since I wrote songs so I'm in the writer's block stage. August's light snoring always woke me up, so I pulled my journal from under my pillow and waited for some inspiration.
"Whitney?" Kayden asked just above a whisper, standing by the door. I motion her to come in and she sat on mg side of the bed.
"Hey, Kay. What's up?" I asked, focusing my attention on her.
"Umm do yah have advice on boys?" She asked as August shot up from his sleep. This is gonna go downhill really fast.
"Advice 'bout boys foe what? Yah ain't likin' no damn boy, in this life or tha' next." He stated while sitting up straight. Kayden rolled her eyes.
"Daddy...I was talkin' ta' Whitney. Go back ta' sleep." She replied as I silently laughed to myself.
"Don't entertain this shit Whitney, Ion care if I gotta get locked up, she ain't likin' no boy." August stood his ground
while turning on the TV."Continue, Kayden." I said as August shot me a death glare. I roll my eyes.
"His name is Daniel and he moved hea' from London. I have a few classes wit' him but he's a grade higher than meh." She stated.
"We'll talk later about it, okay? Lemme talk to your daddy real quick." I said as she nodded and walked out. August got up and went to the bathroom and I followed.
"Ion see why yah gettin' her hopes up cause she ain't finna be likin' no nigga but her Daddy and God. Can I get a amen?" He stated before brushing his teeth.
"You so petty." I chimed in before brushing my own teeth. "Everyone has their first crush some time in their life, it's innocent." I continued while washing my face, he did the same.
"Innocent my ass, boys only want one thing an' he ain't gettin' it." August stated. There's no point in arguing with this man, he too stubborn.
We take a shower together, in a non freaky way. I wanted to downplay my style so I picked out a pair of booty shorts and a slim grey shirt. Throwing on Air Force's by Jordan, I lightly blowdry my hair to get loose curls. Applying my Melted Sugar lipstick by Too Faced I glance at August. Navy blue shirt, white joggers and Timberlands. He topped the look with a navy blue bucket hat, which had white stars all over it.
"Can one of yah help my out wit' my hair?" Kayden asked in the room with her haircare products and a comb.
"Come here." I replied patting a space for her to sit on the bed. As a kid, I had trouble taming my hair so I understand her struggle. "Let's go with something simple." I suggested and she agreed.
I rub in a quarter size amount of African hair lotion by Dr. Mircale all around her hair and comb it thoroughly. Next I part her hair and clipped in a few bobby pins, I use hair gel on her edges and the part. Kayden wore a cheetah print tee, I got her from Forever 21 along with black high waisted short with gold buttons. Her little tan Chanel purse and cheetah print Converse's brought her outfit together.
"Ready?" August asked looking up from his phone and had his keys in hand.
We both nodded and we all three went downstairs and out the door by 7:30, he locked the door as me and Kayden waited in front of the Range Rover. He opened the door for us, giving me a good slap on my ass. Once he got settled we drove off.
"Kay, where yah wanna go foe breakfast?" August asked as I turned on the radio and ironically Hip Hop came on.
"Ihop." She replied as he nodded, keeping his eyes on the road.
