'Well... This is awkward', Jack mumbles after a few minutes of silence. After Rapunzel left, the whole compartment fell silent. 'Eh...so.. What house do you think you're going to get sorted into?', Hans asks eventually, to no-one in particular. 'House? Oh, I don't know. I only heard a few days ago this place existed', Jack replies smirking. 'You, Elsa?'
Me? Oh I've been locked in my room for almost four years now because I've almost killed my sister. Yes. 'Hmm, I've read about the houses on the boat to England', I reply dryly. 'But I don't really know anything else about them. Which house are your brothers in, Hans?', I ask so the attention isn't drawn to me anymore. 'They're all Slytherins. Right now Fredrik, Anders and Kristian are studying at Hogwarts, as third-, fifth- and seventh-year. I believe Kristian is also prefect this year, as Fredrik was in his fifth year. I'm the last one to go here', he answers. 'So you have three brothers?', Jack asks. 'No.. More like twelve', he grimaces. 'Wow..', Jack and I both stare at him. 'I'm glad I was first-born', Jack says. 'And I only have one little sister, Emma. She's a handful, though. Always playing and dancing around me. But wow, that means your thirteenth-born! You know how amazing and utterly confusing that sounds? You're like, the spare nobody even knew was there'. 'Thanks for being so sincere'. 'Pleasure'.
'Hiya everyone! Did I miss anything?', Rapunzel walks in, dressed in her school uniform. 'Yeah, Hans has twelve brothers, nothing special', Jack grins. 'I don't have any brothers', Rapunzel said. 'Or sisters'.
-The train arrives at Hogwarts Station-
'First years! First years over here!', someone shouts. We walk to the voice together, Rapunzel walking behind me. Finally we see someone, something.. 'Is that a kangaroo?', Jack mumbles, but loud enough for the... Thing to hear. 'I'm no kangaroo! I'm a bunny! There's a difference', the bunny-man turns around. 'Still more of a kangaroo to me', Jack snickers. 'Alright, please keep calm and get in these boats in groups of four', bunny-man says.
We sit together in the tiny boat. Jack sticks his hands in the water. 'Jeez, it's ice cold. Couldn't they just freeze it over and let us skate to the castle?' The thought makes him apparently excited. I see Hans sitting, hands folded, looking anxious at the water. 'Hey', I say, sitting down next to him. 'Are you alright?' He looks up at me, and inhales deeply. 'I'm just...not very fond of water', he replies with a pained look in his eyes. 'In fact, I hate it'. 'Why?', Rapunzel asks, turning around so she faces him.
Hans' POV
Shouldn't have said that. Should not have said that. Now what? I can't possibly tell-yeah, they locked me in my room for years because I almost killed the twins with my curse-they deserved it, though. But who would believe that? And even if they believed me, I'd have to tell them everything. Heh, no thanks. Oops, is she still staring at me?
'I just don't like it. I..I almost drowned'. Thrice. It was the twins' fault. The third time is what I'd like to refer to as I Kinda Exploded, because that's exactly what happened. 'So, yeah. That's about it.'
'Hey guys, watch thi- woahh!', Jack had touched the water with his hands once again, only to freeze it over. 'Look at it! I'm doing this without my wand! How amazing is that? Or is this normal in this world?' Frost would definitely be a lot easier to control. I mean, you can melt it. You can't un-burn fire. Jack seems to have way too much fun, but he doesn't seem to notice... 'Jack', I say. 'Jack, you're freezing the lake'. 'Wha-whoa! Oops..', he says as the whole lake rapidly gets covered in ice. The boat freezes solid and suddenly, everything stops.
Elsa's POV
What did he just..no..he can't...be.. In the blink of an eye, the lake was frozen over. 'Oops..', I hear Jack say. 'Ehem.. now what?', Hans mumbles. 'Well Jack, you got it your way. Skating it is', Rapunzel suddenly stands up and proceeds to stand on the ice. 'Rapunzel! Are you mad?' I exclaim as I get up. 'It's dangerous!' 'Well, since it's my ice, I can try, right?', Jack smirks. 'We're just going to have a bit of fun'. Before I can say anything, he steps on the ice. I expect the worst, but nothing happens. 'See? Come on!' 'Shouldn't we wait for a teacher to unfreeze the water?', Hans says, looking at the ice with fear. 'Nah, come on, Hans! Let's go! We're close to the castle. We can just walk, slide, jump...' As he says 'Jump', I hear the ice cracking under his feet. 'Jack, please, this isn't safe', I try, but he doesn't listen. 'Elsa, I'm fine. Please just relax for a moment'. He makes a pirouette when... *breaking ice sound* 'JACK!', we scream in unison when he falls in. Rapunzel tries to get to him, but the ice is cracked everywhere. 'What do we do?', she shrieks. 'We can't let him DIE!' 'Stay here!', I say, carefully stepping on the cracked ice, feeling it heal at my shoes' touch. 'What did you just say to me? It's too dangerous!', Rapunzel almost screams. 'Please, it's his only chance!', I exclaim as I run towards the place he fell in the lake. Now just...don't freeze it shut. I see a glimpse of a body. Without hesitating I say 'Lumos', and I dive in. Seconds later, I feel a body. A cold body, even for my standards. I grab it and proceed to swim up, but it's hard and I'm not able to hold my breath forever. Then I see...hair? I grab it without thinking and feel us getting pulled up. Finally we surface, only to notice that Jack...doesn't look so good. Pale skin, but that makes sense. But his hair- 'Are you alright?', I hear Hans asking. 'Come on, we have to get him to the school!' As fast as we can we walk over the ice, only to bump into someone. 'Kids! There you are! Oh dear, what happened? Let's get him to the infirmary, quick!'
We arrive, all cold (well, except me) and soaked. An older woman took Jack from us and the lady from the lake dried our clothes and gave us some tea. Now we're waiting. 'Shouldn't we be at the Sorting Ceremony?', Rapunzel mumbles. 'I mean, we can't go right now, but we should-' 'Hey guys! Missed me?', Jack stands in front of us, grinning. 'Jack!', I snap. 'Why are you so STUPID? You could've been dead!' 'Or worse', Rapunzel adds, 'expelled'. We all look at her. 'Because..we haven't even started yet..?', she mumbles.
Jack smirks and ruffles his hair. Which makes me notice.. 'Your hair', I gasp. 'What's with my hair? I know I look stunning, but hey-wow'. Jack had walked up to mirror and noticed his hair wasn't totally brown anymore. Streaks of white had showed up. With fear I think of Anna, lying unconscious in the ballroom.. 'Strange', he says. 'Now I'm twice as handsome! Really guys, this is probably just from the cold'.
'Dears, please follow me. If we hurry up you are still in time for the Sorting', the lady from earlier says. 'Please stay close'. We walk down a huge corridor with lots of paintings, like we have in the castle. I wonder how Anna is doing. Probably jumping around on couches and riding her bike down the halls...the halls she's allowed to walk in. Alone. I wonder if she ever just wanders in Arendelle, talking to people and is just...being free. 'Elsaaaaa...', I hear someone saying. 'Elsaaaa...are you ho-ooome?' It's Hans. 'Oh sorry.. I was just..lost in thoughts, I guess', I say. 'Don't you ever have that?' 'Well-'
'Here we are, kids! Now, please stay quiet. The rest of your classmates in already in there. You will be sorted soon. Go on, through this door'. We walk into a huge hall, filled with four colors, green, yellow, red and blue. At the end there's a group of first years standing, currently being sorted. We quickly stand with them. 'Miss Of Arendelle, you're late. Please sit', an old man says. I walk slowly towards the hat as the man holds it. I quickly sit and feel the hat being put on my head. 'Well, well, royalty? How splendid. Your mother never even started her education here. Such a shame..', the hat talks? 'Yes Elsa, I'm talking to you. Now listen, I know you have had some problems with your special ability, but you'll learn to control it. You're smart enough, and oh my, the books you've read! You are protecting your sister, even if that means...' 'I don't have a life myself', I finish, whispering. 'Yes. Now, let me think... I think you belong in...'
To be continued (I like cliffhangers okay ^_^)
I like my stories slow.... Sorry
Also, my sorting choices will be explained next chapter, I think they're quite good.
I apologize for eventual spelling/grammar/anything errors. Please tell me, so I can fix them.
Thanks for waiting so long and I hope you enjoyed!
