The TV was running in the background playing the news about an incident that has recently captured a lot of attention from the media. The female anchor dressed in a formal attire was elaborating a recent incident that had left everyone baffled.
Recently people have started to go missing.
At first the police assumed it was a case of human trafficking but soon was proven wrong when the locals from the rural area of Busan located a dead body near a corp field that has been left abandoned for years now.
When the police arrived at the alleged location for their investigation, a lot more was revealed, leaving a trail of unsolved questions.
The victim is a male seemingly in his 40s. His name is yet to be discovered. It's difficult to identify the persons identity as his face of the has been destroyed completely.
By the look of it, the victim was tortured relentlessly. Fresh cut marks were found in different parts of the victim's body, hinting that the murder must've taken place quite recently.
The victim's legs are burned and it seems the bones were broken in some places as well. The police also mentioned that the victims fingers were missing.
The police have sent the body to the post mortem for further details.
The people who reported about the body were two middle-aged women.
They claim to have seen the murderer dragging the victim's lifeless body to where it is now.
When the police asked for a description of the supposed murderer, they said, the man was dressed in a black suit. His face was covered with a strangely shaped costume head that resembled a rabbit and that he had something in his hand which looked like an ax to them.
The police are suspecting the murderer must've used the ax to make those deep cuts that almost cut through the bones of the victim.
When the ladies, who reported the incident were asked how tall they think the killer must have been, one of them replied with uncertainty that he could be around from 1.69 to 1.73 cm tall.
The police are still investigating this case; and though nothing can be said just now the locals can't help but speculate that it could be a brutal case of serial killing.
After listening to all these details I can't help but be reminded of an urban legend called THE BUNNY MAN.
The Bunny Man is an urban legend that originated from two incidents in 1970. But it has been spread throughout the Washington D.C, and Maryland areas. The legend has many variations; most involving a man wearing a rabbit costume who attacks people with an ax or hatchet.
It's hard not to notice how much this mysterious murderer resembles the character from the urban legend.
Is The bunny man back? Is he now here in Seoul, searching for his next victim? What's his purpose? Why is he disappearing these people? What he'll get by doing all this?
Or is just a matter of twisted desire?
The Tv turned off as Y/n turned around to see her mother holding the remote. Means she turned it off.
"Y/n, don't believe such news. There's no such thing as bunny man. It's just your typical serial killer
You do know news reporters like to make up stories to get people's attention. I mean, how can a character from an urban legend can come back? It's impossible when it's been years" Y/n's mother stated angrily
Y/n chuckled a little and replied "Don't worry mom. I know they're making up stories for publicity. It isn't a new thing to see news reporters speaking nonsense, so I understand" She smiled
"It's good to have an understanding child after all" She said as she smiled "But as the killer is still roaming around freely you can't go outside alone & without our permission. Also from now on Mr.Lee will drive you to school, get it?" Her mother asked
"Yeah, I got it. Are you & dad will go to the police station today?" Y/n asked as she picked up her school bag
"Yes, we still have a lot to do & now this 'Bunny Man!' " She replied annoyedly
She chuckled at her mother's cute behavior & said "Okay mom, I'll get going then" Y/n said as she turned around to leave
"Okay, go fast or you'll get late and also don't go anywhere other than school! Mr. Lee will go to pick you up so don't come home on your own!" Her mother shouted
"Don't worry mom I won't! At least I have this much sense!" She shouting back as she chuckled after finishing her sentence
Y/n came out as she went towards their car as Mr. Lee drive her to school. When they reached there she got out of the car and went inside the school building
After entering in class, she sat on her usual seat as her friend approached her saying-
"Y/n! Did you watch the news?!" She asked curiously
"Rosé...How come you only watch the latest news which are on trending? Do even watch the news when there's nothing on trending?" Y/n asked as she raised her eyebrows while crossing her arms
"Hey! What do you mean by that?! I do watch the news sometimes even when it's not on trending!" She said crossing her arms cutely "You just say if you've watched the news or not"
Y/n chuckled and replied "Okay sorry, I was just joking. Don't take it seriously"
"Too bad, I already took it seriously" Rosé said, still kinda angry not looking at her
"Please don't be angry? I'll buy you hot chocolate!"
"Really?" Rosé asked curiously as she looked at Y/n
Y/n nod and said "Also, yeah I watched the news"
"Knew it, you watch the news every day. I mean what we can expect from someone whose parents are police officers? Anyway, what do you think about the Bunny Man thing? Is it true?" Rosé again asked curiously
"First of all don't believe in the Bunny Man thingy. It isn't even true. It's a serial killer and 2nd of all, how can a person of a legend from years ago will come back? News reporters are talking about this for more watch time and publicity"
"I know right?
I was like- yeah, the bunny man was sitting while chilling and suddenly it clicked on his mind that he hasn't killed anyone since 1970. Then he went like 'Dang it man! Imma kill more people now cause it's been years!'
I mean it's so weird" She said in disbelief "The killer might have worn the costume head to keep his identity secret. Not like he wants people to see his face so that he can get caught, right?
Also, it's not like the killer will always wear that thing. Maybe next time he'll come to attack wearing something else" She said as she shrugged
"You know what? That's why I like you. You're absolutely right. My parents also think this way and now they're stressed about this bunny man case" Y/n said as she sighed
Rosé gently held Y/n's shoulder and said "Don't worry much. This case will end soon" She said as she smiled
"Yeah, I hope so" Y/n replied as she smiled too
Soon the class teacher came as the class started & Y/n thought for the last time
But really...what will he get by doing all this?
