A Few Years Ago:
In the sky, there was a massive thunderstorm going on. But flying through the depths of the powerful thunderstorm was a single dragon, covered in a nasty deal of scars. The dragon was none other than the figure of legends, it was none other than the mighty Skrill.
The Skrill's huge wings were alight with lightning electricity and its eyes stormy as the thunderstorm above. It's scales gleamed in the shades of purple and dark blue, its dark gray belly gleamed in the dark gray storm clouds.
But on his back was a man around his early thirties. He has a short black hair and a stubble black beard. He was wearing a black leather tunic with red scales on his shoulders and around his waist. Though, the left side of his face is severely scarred as if he had been severely burnt, there were three holes in his tunic that revealed a white and red-tinted bandage on his back. He was laid upon the Skrill's back, but the man hung limply on the great dragon's back. But the Skrill was flying very carefully with his rider and occasionally glancing up at his unconscious rider out of concern.
The dragon knew that his rider had regretted doing terrible things to other dragons and the Dragon Riders, it will take him a extremely long time to recover from the heavy shame he was feeling. He had heard many tales being told by his rider, filled with so much guilt and sadness with a tiny twinge of hope to redeem himself. But together, they had done it. His rider had redeemed himself and his past actions. His rider had risked his life to give the leader of the Dragon Riders and his Night Fury a chance to escape from the traitorous Dragon Hunters, but it had almost costed his rider's life. They were lucky that they had came across a hermit and had quickly healed his rider before the Dragon Flyers had showed up.
The Skill had quickly spotted a island not too far away from the island of Dragon's Edge and immediately started flying towards the island. The island was covered in forest and fresh water rivers, but what really stood out was the huge mountain in the center of the island. It was really tall and imposing, but it'll do for a hiding place for both the Skill and his rider.
Ten Years Later:
The Island of the Berserker was celebrating at full bloom as their beloved dragons had started to return to their island. Everybody was laughing, cheering, and dancing in the town square. Many were reuniting with their dragons with loving embraces and joyful kisses (or licks in the dragons' case). There was a huge bonfire in the center of the town square. There were tables with plates of delicious food and both cups and pinchers were filled with wonderful drinks. The golden dawning sky had made a wonderful backdrop of the celebration. The musicians were playing golden cheerful music, many people and dragons were dancing around the bonfire together, hand to hand and wing to wing.
A fifteen year old girl named Sky cracked a smile as she watched as her parents danced together, while her uncle danced with her aunt and her cousins danced with the village kids around her age. Her father's dragon is a handsome red and blue Monstrous Nightmare named Wildfire and her mother's dragon is a beautiful white and orange hybrid Light Fury and Fire Fury called a Fire Light named Starshower. But she felt herself frown when she saw some of the dragon riders and their dragons doing an air show together, Sky felt a huge wave of longing and loneliness washed over her as she watched the dragon riders and their dragons flying together in the sky. What she could give to just fly as high as the sky and feel the taste of freedom for once. Besides, having a dragon best friend sounds better than being alone all of the time. After all, she feels like an outcast more than the others due to her secretive nature and feisty spirit.
Sky had went towards the docks and started watching the sun rise from the endless, sparkling blue sea. Once the dawn's light touched her, it had revealed Sky's slender and slight strong figure. Sky's long and wavy golden hair shimmered in the sunlight. Her almond-shaped eyes caught the sunlight and sparkled like the sea, her eyes is not exactly blue and not exactly green, her eyes are mix of both colors. While her skin is both fair and lightly tanned from her time in the sun. Sky was wearing a blue sleeveless vest on top of a long-sleeved tan tunic and a pair of brown pants. She has brown arm bracers and fingerless brown gloves. She has a metal-studded brown kransen that goes across her forehead and above her eyes. She was also wearing brown riding boots, while wrapped around her upper arms were leather bands. Her right ear has been pierced, fashioned from a pair of shedded dragon scales of a Monstrous Nightmare: the smaller earring is green, while the bigger one is blue.
Sky sighed softly, breathing in the refreshing and salty scent of the sea. She smiled as she felt the sea breeze ran through her golden hair. Sky sat down and smiled when she saw the underwater dragons jumping out of the water and diving back into the sea. She also felt at peace whenever she's by the seashore. The gentle of cry the sea gulls echoed throughout the beach, followed by the adorable squeaking of the Terrible Terrors.
But Sky soon jumped in place and immediately gotten up to see familiar trading ship. It was Joan's trading ship, he was coming in for another trading or the celebration. Joan is a friendly and trustworthy sea trader, who likes to trading supplies with other islands and telling stories about his travels. He also give messages to people from other islands. He's always accompanied by a green male Fastfin with the name Seaspray. Seaspray laid on one of the benches and was watching Sky with what looks like a smile.
Joan is around his early twenties. He has messy dark brown hair and warm brown eyes. He has tanned skin covered in freckles. He was wearing a long-sleeved shirt with deep red white-swirled imprinted tunic and deep blue sari over it, light grey cloth bracers on his arms, a brown belt with a yellow pack and knife around his waist, dark brown trousers, and light brown boots.
He smiled when he saw Sky standing at the docks, Sky smiled and gave Joan a eager smile. Joan soon lassoed the dock and pulled his trading ship alongside the dock before he smiled back at Sky.
"Greetings Sky, come aboard my ship," offered Joan, his eyes gleaming playfully. "Take a look at all I've brought with me today!"
Sky soon boarded the ship and started looking through the ship. His ship was covered in barrels and boxes, there were a bit of everything in the ship: shiny treasures, shedded dragon scales and teeth, weapons, all kinds of supplies for both fishing and camping, books, scrolls, maps, and much more.
Joan asked, "Where's the others? Usually, there's more folks with you."
Sky looked up and replied, "Everybody's busy reuniting with their dragon buddies and making a celebration out of it."
"Ah." Joan smiled and nodded with understanding. "That makes sense." He gently stroked Seaspray's head and the dragon purred. "I was over the moon when I was reunited with my beloved Seaspray." But he soon frowned and looked at Sky. "But why aren't you celebrating? Don't you like dragons?"
"I do like dragons," said Sky quietly as she stopped looking the trading stuff and kept her gaze downcast. "But I have no reunion with any dragon, since they had all disappeared before I could bond with one."
"Well, you might be whistling a different tone soon," said Joan with a smile as he got out a scroll and gave it to Sky. "The Chief of Berk had gave this to me to give to you."
Sky couldn't help, but yelped in surprise and said, "Really?"
"Really," confirmed Joan with a smile. "Well, go on. Open it."
Sky soon unrolled the scroll and read out loud.
"Dear Sky Dawn Dagsbrún,
I am pleased to announce that you have been invited to train at the School of Dragons. You shall be trained by one of the Dragon Riders, but most importantly you will be able to befriend and take care of your own dragon and have the chance to become a Dragon Rider.
Yours sincerely,
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third."
"I'm going to become a Dragon Rider?" Sky felt her shock go away and is immediately replaced with overjoyed excitement. "I'm going to become a DRAGON RIDER!!!" Sky jumped around excitedly and jumped into Joan's arms in her excitement.
Joan laughed and said teasingly, "Take it easy lass. After all, you still have to show that your parents and start packing to catch my ship tomorrow."
"Sure thing," said Sky with a excited grin. "Once my family hears about this, they're going to flip out."
"They sure are." Sky gave Joan a confused look before she followed his pointed finger and jumped back in surprise to see her mother and father standing there with their dragons.
Sky's mom, also known as Elin, has long and wavy black hair, soft and warm deep brown eyes, soft olive skin, and was wearing similar clothes as Sky. But her dad, also known as Arvid, is another story, he looks kind of like Sky and Sky had inherited some of her looks from him: his hair is slightly darker golden-blonde, his eyes are deep and blue as the sea, and his skin is both light and fairly tanned from his time outside. But he was wearing leather armor, a silver necklace with the pendant of a trio of silver dragons, black leather pants, and brown boots. Unlike most Vikings, her father is more leaner than the Vikings and is quite muscular.
"Did we hear correctly?" asked her father, his voice deep and has an undertone of both excitement and pride. "Our daughter is going to the School of Dragons?"
"A-Are you proud of me?" Sky stuttered, feeling nervous and slightly intimidated by her father.
Before Dagur had became Chief of Berserkers and King of the Defenders of the Wings, her father was Chief Oswald's right hand man and was captain of the soldiers on the island. But after Dagur had became Chief, they quickly overheard that they'll be joining the Dragon Hunters and had quickly left to stay at an island where they wouldn't be accidentally caught in the crossfire. But after they had heard that Dagur and Heather both allied themselves with Berk and the Dragon Riders, they soon came back to Berserker and started helping the people and dragons as much as they can. When the Dragon Flyers had invaded, Sky and her older cousins had hid the children away from the battle till Dragon Riders took care of it.
"Of course I am sweetheart," said her Dad with a warm smile and embraced Sky lovingly. "Let's get you packed up for next week's trip."
"Chief Hiccup will take wonderful care of you," her Mum said with a gentle smile and started stroking Sky's hair.
"Thanks for giving me the message Joan," Sky said to Joan gratefully.
"You're welcome my dear," said Joan with a smile. "I'll wait for you, so I can take you to New Berk."
Sky smiled at Joan and nodded before she followed her parents back to the village and the tribe's celebration. Next week is going to be one of the greatest weeks of her life.
