matt: i'm sorry, i know it's valentine's day and you're probably busy and don't wanna hear about me ever again but i don't have anyone else to call
carl: what about gary? why don't you call him instead? i bet he can be just as helpful

carl: seriously? i'm actually glad to hear that, you've got a crush on him since forever

carl: but why? he's your best friend, he should know you're gay
matt: but what if he rejects me? i don't think i could handle that
carl: matt, you've been friends for years, you know he isn't homophobic. the worst that could happen would be him not feeling the same. and even then i highly doubt he'll leave you, you have nothing to worry about
