"Seattle is in a state of terror. Police are baffled by the escalating murders and disappearances. Theories range from a vicious new gang to a wildly active serial killer. Reporting live..." Carlisle turned off the tv as we all walked in "it's getting worse. We're going to have to do something." He said. "It takes more than one of our kind to cause the damage they're reporting. Quite a few more. And they're undisciplined, conspicuous." Jasper said, looking at Edward. "It's newborns." Edward said and Carlisle looked up. "What like new vampires? Like Sydney?" Bella said and Seth gripped my hand tighter. "In the first few months after the change." Edward said "That's when we're at our most uncontrollable. Vicious. Insane with thirst." Jasper said. "Normally, not in Sydney's case. But something for you to look forward to." Emmett said, looking at Bella. "No one's trained these newborns, but this isn't random." Jasper said. "Someone's creating an army." Carlisle said and Emmett got up "Well now we're definitely going to Seattle." He said. "An army of vampires?" Bella asked. "And they've been created to fight someone." Jasper said. "We're the only clan even close to Seattle." Edward said. "Regardless of why they were made, if we don't put a stop to them, the Volturi will. I'm surprised they've let it go on this long." Carlisle said. "Maybe they're behind it. In Italy I read Argo's mind. He wants me and Alice to Join him, but he knows we will never choose him as long as our family's still alive." Edward said. "An army could solve that for him, and I'm sure the twins have told him about Sydney's powers." Jasper said.
We got to Edward's and Bella's house and I took Seth to my room. "I feel like this is all my fault. If I never became a vampire, none of this would be happening." I said, sitting on my bed. "It's not your fault, you didn't want to be a vampire and you heard Edward, Aro also wants him and Alice so it would happen with or without you." Seth said, sitting next to me. We fell asleep holding onto each other.
We went back to the reserve the next day and stayed with Sam and Emily at the pack house. We ran around with the wolves and just hung out until Bella came in. "Sydney, Seth, we're leaving now" she said, and I rather not test the boundaries of being immortal by arguing with her when she uses that tone so we got up and got in the rabbit with Jake, it was silent car ride and I pieced together what happened from Jacob and Bella's thoughts.
We got home and Edward speeded in behind us and got out running to Jacob and attacking him. "Edward!" Bella exclaimed. "If you ever touch her against her will again..." Edward said "Don't do this here!" Bella pleaded "or anywhere" I said getting in between them with Bella "She's not sure what she wants" Jacob said, getting in Edward's face. "Not helping Jacob!" I said as Seth joined us in getting in between the two. "Don't do this here!" Bella screamed again. "Let me give you a clue. Wait for her to say the words." Edward said. "He's right Jacob what you did was messed up." I said. "Fine! And she will." Jacob said. "Jacob, just go, okay?" Bella said. Charlie must of came for a surprise visit because he came running. "Hey, hey, hey! Easy, guys. Easy. Let's take it down a notch. All right?" He said, helping us push Edward and Jacob apart. "What's going on?" He asked. "I kissed Bella." Jacob said after a long pause. "And she broke her hand. Punching my face. Total misunderstanding." Jacob said. Everyone dispersed and Seth thought it would be a good idea for him to back to the reserve with Jacob while Edward seemed like he would chase after the rabbit if I went with them. Edward drove us to Carlisle's so he could take a look at Bella's hand.
"It's just a sprain. It should heal fairly quickly." Carlisle said, wrapping Bella's wrist. "Trying to walk and chew gum at the same time again, Bella?" Emmett joked "I punched a werewolf in the face." Bella said. "Badass. You're going to be one tough little newborn." Emmett said, smiling "tough enough to take you on." Bella said, Rosalie stomped out of the room and Bella and I looked at Emmett "Don't worry about it." He said. "Got any leads?" Edward asked and slapped me upside my head when he realized I was trying to find out what Rosalie was upset about. "No sign of the intruder. But Victoria continues to make appearances." Jasper said as Bella followed Rosalie out, I tried to follow but Edward stopped me "I don't think Rosalie wants you to hear this, but Bella needs to." Edward said.
