"Okay, Sydney will ride with me so I can evaluate her on the way." Carlisle told everyone, helping me to his car. He began to drive, obviously in a hurry, he glanced at me every once in a while and then spoke. "Okay, I will hook you up to a blood bag when we get there, and give you blood to drink, but we need to find a way for you to use your powers without draining yourself." he said.
We got to Billy's house and he got out. "Seth! Help her out." Carlisle ordered, getting his bag. Seth came over and we kissed each other, hugging each other after. He carried me out of the car and onto a stone under a tree. Carlisle quickly hooked me up to a blood bag, hanging it on a tree branch nearby, and giving me some blood to drink before running inside. "Are you okay? What happened with the Volturi?" Seth asked, sitting next to me and rubbing my shoulder "Give her a minute, she was in rough shape." Embry said. "I'm fine, everyone is overreacting." I stated "No, we're not overreacting, you look terrible." Quil stated "Gee, thanks. Anyway, the Volturi came, acted like they were coming to help but they were really here to see us fall. There was a newborn vampire girl who surrendered, they- they killed her. And they threatened both me and Bella, Bella for not being a vampire yet, and the Cullens think they to take me for my powers." I explained, Seth tensed when I said they wanted to take me. "Damn, what about-" Embry started but stopped when we heard Jacob begin to scream, we suddenly didn't want to talk any longer.
I was crying into Seth's chest, him hugging me as we listened to Jacob's screams when Bella arrived. She got out of her truck and came towards us. "Hey." she said to Billy, before we heard another scream, Billy winced and gripped tighter onto Sue's hand, which rested on his shoulder. "It's been going on for a while." Quil said "Doc's rebreaking his bones." Embry explained to her. "Why did he have to butt in? I could've taken that tick." Leah claimed "Oh, give it a rest, Leah." Paul told her. The door opened and I lifted my head as we all looked, Carlisle and Sam left the house. "The worst is over. He'll be all right. I gave him some morphine, but his body temperature will burn it off soon. I'll come back to set up a drip." Carlisle stated "Thank you." Billy said to him and they shook hands. "He's asking for you." Carlisle told Bella, Billy nodded to her and she went in. Carlisle came up to me "You haven't been drinking the blood." he said, checking the now empty blood bag. "I couldn't, not as I heard-" I trailed off. "I understand, I'll hook up another blood bag but you also need to drink." Carlisle said, replacing the blood bag that was hanging on the branch. "Make sure she drinks it, that's the only reason she's here and not under observation." He told the pack "Don't worry, she's still under observation." Sam smiled. Carlisle left "Chug, chug, chug, chug, chug" the pack chanted and I finally downed the blood, which caused cheering. "You feeling okay?" Sam asked, "Yeah, much better." I said. "How much energy did you burn?" Embry asked "I used a vampire name Jane's powers to bring Victoria to the ground." I replied "I saw it, she did it to keep Victoria from killing Edward after Bella cut herself to distract them. It was awesome." Seth said "Aw, the way you look at her, young love." Paul teased, wiping away a fake tear. "Shut up." Seth said. "I think Bella got the inspiration to cut herself from the legend of the third wife, you told her." I said to Billy "Really? I'll have to tell her to be careful." he said. Bella came out and looked at me "He wants to talk to you now." she said to me. "I have a coat rack and a coat hanger you could use for your blood bag." Billy said "I'll help her." Sam said. I hugged Seth and went with Sam inside.
He helped me set up my blood bag and I sat next to Jacob on his bed. "Thanks Sam" I said as he left. "So, you wanted to talk to me?" I asked "Yeah, you looked so bad you made me nervous." he stated "I made you nervous!?" I demanded, hitting him lightly on his left side "Ow! Ow." he said "I'm sorry! I thought it was your right side that got hurt." I said, looking at the site "It is." he smiled and laughed "You asshole!" I said, hitting him on his left side again. "So you threatened to get yourself killed?" I asked "Ugh, not my proudest moment but it needed to happen." he said. "Well, whatever, I'm just glad you're okay." I said "I'm glad you're okay too, I heard you were a badass." he said. "Yeah, but it made me really weak, as you can see." I stated, shaking the blood bag. "Hey, leave that thing alone. I'm sure one day you can be a badass without needing a blood bag, just not today." he said. "Yeah, well I'll leave you to rest, Carlisle said he'll be back with a morphine drip." I told him "Can't wait." he said sarcastically. I took the blood bag off of the coat rack and put it away.
I left the house and the pack was waiting "He's the usual Jacob, smug, sarcastic, not taking anything seriously." I said and everyone smiled. I hooked the IV back to the branch and sat next to Seth.
When Carlisle brought the morphine drip, he took me back to the Cullen house. I said goodbye to everyone and kissed Seth goodbye, which was met with the pack screaming in fake horror.
"Go lay on the couch, you are on bed rest but we don't have your room set up yet." Carlisle ordered me "I'm fine." I said "Nope, go lay down." Emmett said, pushing me to the couch. I layed down and slept.
I woke up when Bella and Edward came in, Alice ran towards them "You have a wedding date! And look at that ring!" she exclaimed. "Yes, August 13th." Edward stated "And we want you all to be a part of it." Bella said. "Even me?" I groaned "Even you, and you will wear a dress, you will be a bridesmaid." Alice said happily, "Fine, I'll take it." I said. "And Seth can be your groomsman." Edward stated "Now I will definitely take it." I said "Did she tell you they slept in a tent alone together last night?" Edward asked with a smile. "What?" Emmett turned to me with an arched eyebrow. "I swear nothing happened, Edward came in and threatened us." I stated "Good." Emmett replied, turning back to the happy couple. "That's not too long from now." I realized "Yeah, so I don't get even older than him." Bella said "It also gives me plenty of time." I replied "Plenty of time for what?" Edward asked me "Plenty of time to learn how to control my powers, I want to learn how not to over-exhaust myself when I use them." I stated, I'm determined to learn how to control my powers, I will not let them fight without me again.
