That night, I managed to sleep, but I had a nightmare about the army. I saw a familiar face in the army. "Sydney! Sydney wake up! You're having a nightmare." Edward said, shaking me awake lightly. "I had a dream about the army." I said "I know, I saw." he said, Bella watching me from the door.
"That's not fair! You saw me fight, I beat Jasper and you couldn't." I argued, leaving the house with Edward and Bella "We're not just gonna hide while you're out taking all the risks for us." Bella said. "If it's Victoria involved, I need to keep you both as far away from the fight as possible." Edward told us "Jasper said that I could be of help. That we can be of help." Bella argued. "We won't need your help. With the wolves in this, it's an easy win. The rest of us aren't gonna have enough to do." Edward said "Okay. Either it's so dangerous that we have to hide or it's so easy that you're going to be sidelined. Which is it?" Bella asked, I was impressed. "It's dangerous for you two, it's easy for us." Edward replied "I think it's dangerous for us to be apart. How many times do we have to prove that? I'll be worried. You'll be worried. And we'll both be more vulnerable, the same goes for Sydney and Seth." Bella stated "And I can fight, I am a vampire after all, sometimes a wolf, and I will fight with Seth." I added, not willing to let him fight without me. "Okay Bella, you're right." Edward said "So we're coming with you." Bella stated "No, we all stay away together." Edward said "What!? No." I said "And I will talk to the wolves about Seth staying with us." Edward added, sighing "I can't make you choose between us and your family." Bella argued. "The only way I can protect you both is to be with you." Edward said.
Bella, Edward, Jasper and I met Jacob and Seth in a clearing, I walked over to Seth and kissed him "I heard you refuse to hide." He said "Not without you." I replied "Well, I'm a bit bummed to not be fighting but I'm glad it's with you." he said. "You're not fighting? What, did you pull a muscle or something?" Jacob asked Edward "He's doing it for me and Sydney, okay?" Bella stated "Whatever." Jacob said and I hit him in the back of the head. "Just tell me the plan." Jacob said. "This field will give us an advantage in battle. We need to lure the newborns with Sydney and Bella's scent, but it needs to end here." Jasper stated "Edward, Sydney, Seth and I are going to a campsite. Even if he carries us, they'll still pick up on our scents. Even if Sydney shifts, it will still smell like her." Bella explained. "Your stench, however, is revolting." Edward added "Dude, you really don't wanna start comparing stinks." Jacob said "Hey, stop." I said, Seth had his arms wrapped around me. "What he means is that your and Seth's scents will mask ours if you carry us." Bella said, trying to keep the peace. "Done." Jacob agreed, "This is not a good idea." Edward stated. "Edward, they won't want to get anywhere near their odor." Jasper told him. "Okay. Let's just try it." Bella said. Seth picked me up and Jacob picked Bella up, Jacob and Edward exchanging a look. "Eau de wolves coming up." Jacob said "Run." Edward ordered, it seemed threatening. Seth and Jacob ran in separate directions.
"Are you okay with staying out of the fight?" I asked him. "I would rather stay out of the fight with you than risk you getting hurt." he told me "I can fight." I stated "Oh, I know you can, I'm pretty sure Jacob still has scars from both before and after he was a wolf." Seth told me. "So, we're going to be at a campsite together for a night." I said "Don't forget, Bella and Edward will be there with us, and Edward will skin me if I do something he doesn't like." Seth stated. We got back to the clearing where Edward and Jacob were waiting, the same time as Jacob and Bella. "All I picked up was wolf stench, I couldn't smell either of you. This will work." Jasper stated "Great." Edward replied, but he didn't seem very happy, but that was normal.
We got back to the Cullen house "Your alibi for the battle is all arranged." Alice said "What alibi?" I asked "In case Charlie decided to give you guys a surprise visit." Alice explained. "I told your father that our whole family's going camping this weekend, so you two and I are having a sleepover at my house. Charlie's going fishing anyway." Alice stated "Charlie? You guys are on first name basis now?" Bella asked "Me, he likes. Actually, you, Sydney and Edward will have the house to yourselves tonight." Alice stated "Like alone?" Bella asked "No, I refuse." I said "You have no choice. We're all going hunting. Powering up for the battle. Sydney, make sure to have earbuds in. You're welcome." Alice said "What about the other house?" I asked "Actually, we've decided to merge the houses and sell that house, it seems to have become a liability, we're all going to live in the Cullen house." Alice said "What? No." I groaned "Yes, the boys are moving both of your stuff." Alice stated, that's why they weren't here. "Fine, but I'm staying with the wolves tonight." I stated "I'll allow it." Edward said "You better allow it." I muttered, grabbing some clothes and stuff and leaving the house.
I ran to the reserve and got to Jacob's house. "Hey Sydney, what's up?" Jacob asked me "they're making me move into the Cullen house with Bella for safety and I'd rather not witness that." I responded "That sucks." he said "Yeah, so I was wondering if I could hang out with the pack and then crash her for the night?" I asked, "Always, let's go." Jacob said, I put my things in his house and we left. We went to Sam and Leah's house and we were met with cheers. "Hey! Sydney! What are you doing here?" Embry asked "Peaceful protest" I responded "They're moving her and Bella into the Cullen house." Jacob said "Well, when you need a break, you're always welcome here." Emily said, handing me one of the cookies the pack was eating. "Thank you." I replied. "Are you guys ready for the battle?" I asked them "Born ready, I'm going to take down so many of those vampires." Quil said "Good, just try not to get us." I replied "Never-" Sam said and then we heard a howl "Did nobody tell Seth you were here?" Sam asked, everyone looked at each other "Uh oh." Emily whispered. The door burst open, Seth came in and pulled me into him. "None of you told me she was here!" Seth exclaimed. "Sorry man, she's staying at mine tonight, I'm sure Billy will be okay with you staying with her." Jacob offered "Okay." Seth said, still hugging me, his head on top of mine. We stayed at Sam's house for a bit before going back to Jacob's.
Billy did let Seth stay at their house, as long as it wasn't in the room I used to stay in, but in the living room, on the pull-out couch. "Are you okay?" Seth asked me as we lay on the couch, he could tell that I was nervous "I told you guys that I didn't want any of you to get hurt for me." I replied "And I told you, you are worth getting hurt for." he told me and I sat up. "No I'm not, everybody in this battle has somebody who needs them to come back, Sam has Emily, Jared imprinted on Kim who will be upset if he gets hurt, Quil has Claire, and I have a feeling Paul will imprint soon, and you and Leah have your mom, she can't take any more loss." I explained. "I love that you worry about everyone, but we're going to be fine, I'm going to stay with you and Bella during the battle and I will be fine, we will all be fine. Plus, isn't Carlisle some sort of doctor? He'll patch us all up after the battle." he told me "Fine" I groaned, laying back down. "So, Paul will be imprinted soon? Did you see that with your Alice vision? Who is it?" he asked me "Let's just say, Jacob will not be happy." I replied "Go to sleep!" Jacob yelled from his room and we both chuckled, before going to sleep, me still worrying about the battle that would take place the next day.
