S11 climbed the last flight of stairs and opened the door. He carried a leather briefcase with him. As he left the stairwell, he was pelted by the African rain. The industrialization had caused rainstorms such as these to become more common, as carbon manoxide mutated the weather patterns.

S11 reached the rooftop ledge and placed his briefcase on the ground. He bent down to open the briefcase. Within it rested the five pieces of a sniper rifle. He connected the stock with the gun, and then proceeded to attach the barrel. He slid the scope onto the attachment rail and listened for the click. Once finished, he added the silencer.

"You're very slow at putting those things together," spoke S25. He walked out of the shadows to S11's left. He carried a silenced submachine gun.

"It's not slow, it's thorough."

"Whatever, I could put that together in thirty seconds."

"Yes, that would be great until the gun jammed during the middle of a mission."

"Look alive. A convoy of SUV's from the north. Two from the east. I suspect they'll meet at the intersection," called another squad member.

"Here we go," spoke S25. "All positions check in."

"S31 and S64 on the west roof."

"S08, S02, and S89 on the ground."

The rest of the team checked in. As they finished, the two SUV convoys met up. An asian man stepped out of one of the convoy vehicles, followed by a mix of multiple races. "These guys are pretty well funded. Looks like their arsenal extends beyond the average handgun."

"Well, they've got worse devices up their sleeves. Soon they'll have acess to an unlimited access of soldiers."

"S02...how do you know that? All they told us was to obtain the SUV's."

"Oh boy, we were supposed to take out the insurgents first," sighed S31. "Crow, duck!" Suddenly, a bullet struck S25 through the chest. He gasped, wobled, and then fell forward off of the roof. His body landed on the sidewalk, startling the insurgents. Crow watched as S02 removed his silenced pistol from his coat and fire two shots into S08. S89 jumped behind a dumpster and loaded his PDW.

A shot passed through the roof wall, nearly missing Crow. He stopped watching the fight to notice that one of the agents was firing at him. Crow crawled a little further down the roof and propped his rifle on the wall again. He pushed the stock against his shoulder and looked down his scope. Crow checked the wind reading and took aim. He pulled the trigger. The shell casing ejected and rolled across the roof. The agent screamed and fell backwards. Crow then turned to the insurgents, who were beginning to sweep the buildings. He found his second target and tracked him. As the target was about to enter a building, Crow fired. His bullet passed through the brick wall. He never knew if he hit his target.

Several sirens announced the arrival of the local police force. The insurgents stopped their sweeps and focused on the police force. Four cars pulled up and amounted to twelve new arrivals joined the firefight. The insurgents and the police exchanged several shots and eight of the police officers were hit. Multiple insurgents fell dead as well. S02 had his back to the road and turned from his fight with S08. He dashed to the SUV convoy, spraying bullets into the cars and buildings, killing three insurgents. Only two police officers remained standing. They both retreated back to their car and left the scene. S02 jumped into one of the SUVs and prepared to make his escape. The several other agents joined him in multiple other cars. Crow dropped his gun off the roof, destroying it so that it would not be recovered. He took the elevator down since he was nine stories up. When he reached the ground he dashed to one of the cop cars. One of the "turned" agents lay on the ground. Crow ran past him. He looked back to see another agent finish off the dying man with his pistol.

Crow stepped into the passenger seat of a police car. The driver took off down the road after the escaping SUV. He heard machine gun fire and looked out the window. Another SUV was chasing them, the driver of which Crow recognized as another agent he knew was not "corrupted." Crow looked over at his driver and realized his mistake. The driver looked at him as well and said, "oh."

Crow did not respond but punched the driver in the gut. The other agent reached for his handheld weapon and clicked off the safety. Crow shoved the barrel up and the driver fired two shots into the roof. Still pinning the weapon against the roof, he once more punched the driver in his stomach. The driver dropped the gun in response and Crow grabbed it. He flipped it around and unloaded what was left in the clip into the driver. His dead body fell onto the steering wheel and caused the car to jerk left. Crow pulled the handbrake in a panicked response. The car flipped several times. He felt a sharp pain on his head and then blacked out. The car rested upside down on the side of the road.
