N POV
The past week had been a whirlwind of runaway thoughts, restlessness and coffee.
Lets just say the new extra helping of drama in my life wasn't sitting too well with me.
There were somedays i operated on only about 2hrs of sleep. So as you could imagine hearing someone pounding on my door after i finally closed my eyes enraged me.
I tore myself from my bed, cursing like a sailor the whole way to my front door.
There had better be someone out there holding a hundred million yen or i was kicking some ass.
However, I was forced to relax looking into the peek hole.
It was Sakura.
I open my door. She was standing there with a bag of groceries and a big smile which I didn't understand how she could have at this time in the morning.
" Sakura?" I said rubbing my eyes. "What are you doing here?"
" Morning" she said with a kiss on the cheek. She opened her bag to show me its contents, " I thought i'd make you some breakfast."
She didn't even wait for me to respond, before she was in my apartment and then in my kitchen.
" Now what can I make for you? I picked up a lot at the store so we have options."
I gave her a restrained smile, " Sakura you didn't have to do this."
" Especially at.." I strained my eyes to look at that clock hanging above my door.
" 7 am" she said finishing my sentence.
I nearly choked.
" Of course i did. Its rare that we both have days off at the same time. I had to take advantage of that."
All the contents of her bag was now laid on my counter.
This was one of the things that kept me up at night. I always imagined a scene just like this. Sakura and i together laughing doing things that couples do.
But what was in front of me didn't exactly give me butterflies.
I walked towards her as she began pulling pans out of my cabinet. Her eyes looked dull and the bags under them seemed worst then my own.
She was exhausted.
These days she went out of her way to act overly perky and happy.
All of a sudden we were spending more time together, she was showering me with gifts and affection.
I didn't want to seem ungrateful, after all this is what teenage me dreamed my relationship with sakura would be like.
But was it wrong for me to think something was off?
This wasn't Sakura.
I wrapped my arms around her from behind as she struggled to chopped the vegetables.
" Sakura...you hate cooking we already tried this remember? You said its harder than any science class you've taken."
She looked at me with that same plastered smile.
" Not anymore i got Hinata to teach me a few things. She's really good at it and now i feel much more con-"
She winced and i looked down to see she had cut her finger with the knife.
" You're bleeding!" I said freaking out.
I scrambled to one of my cabinets and took out a first aid kit. She didn't even look phased by it. She just stood there watching the crimson fluid travel down her finger.
