David had never stopped to appreciate the scenery of Elmdale, or the 'ranch-style vintage in a modern setting' as a whole.

However, sitting on the side of the freeway, David found a patch of wilted buttercups to be quite pleasant company.

"David?" The raven-haired boy heard cry out with the cutting of a rattling engine.

As he peeked up from the smoking hood of his jet black Lincoln, David spotted his feathery sister and Patrick, wobbling tiredly from the drivers seat with a battered toolbox.

"Hey there, clumsy." Patrick chirped, flashing David a loaded smile he couldn't help but return.
