Catch me if you can__ Kudo Shinichi with Kaito Kid

Chapter 6

At first, Kudo Shinichi assumed that Kid's letter was the trigger, the trigger triggered the nature which belonged to a detective. Not even a glance did he need to realize that the letter was a fake one.

" That isn't Kid's letter." The first person was Nakamori who broke the silent. He looked around all the agents and presents from CRI.

" Kid was badly injured lately. Last time he almost dead. "

"So you Japanese government admits Kid is not dead yet." One of the local police flipped his eyebrow. Nakamori stared at him.

"If you told me Kid sent this latter and plan to steal some jewels from the high security system, I would say you were crazy."

" Whoever is playing tricks with us, he really want to seduce Kid to show up." Kudo speculated. " Does that mean he know what is happening to Kaito Kid and want to do his next step by using Kid's name or....." He paused. " This guy somehow knows Kid is here."

"What?!" 

Kudo's words certainly fetched a silent from all present. Everybody looked at each other, suspicious was the smoke spreading around immediately. 

" Now we just put aside the idea he is a moron who send latter to us and directly promote the security system and too promote the difficulty of stealing things, what is the beneficial he can get? This guy is not a copycat, he's more like a bait. " Kudo spread the pictures of the The Crown of Eternal Missing on the desk. " My question is, what makes The Crown of Eternal Missing so special that someone will actually want to lay a finger on it? I mean, those materials and jewels are not so expensive. They are very easy to be found, and the crown itself it's not that delicate, even the metal is common metals like lead or......tin. You can never compare these to those masterpieces which had stolen by Kaito Kid before."

"The true precious thing does not consist in its outside but its meaning." Melissa said. Mori stood next to her.

" You mean that this crown was made to mourn somebody?"

"Correct." Kim Aiyama, the event general coordinate, walked inside the conference room. "In purpose of mourning our great magician, Mr.Kuroba, as many member's teacher, we all agree to make a souvenir. " Kim Aiyama was a lean, decent man, contrary to Kid, he did not have beautiful look as advantage, but any one would lowered their defense easily. He looked like a neighbor next door who would lend out a hand if you were in trouble. 

" Let me introduce this nice lady to all of you. This is the deputy head of the CRI, she will replace head master to attend all the discussion today. Mrs. Rosalee" 

" Exactly when can I speak to Mr.Utato directly? I am sick of waiting for his appointment." Local police chef complained. " Due my respect, Chef. Who do you think you are? USA president? Head master is not some high school teacher greeting you whenever you like. Plus, we squeezed you into our schedule, you should appreciate that."

"Wow, that woman called Rosalee is sort of in the blurt side." Hattori whispered to Kudo's ear. " How smart the head master is, think about that, you don't have to play the bad cop while your deputy is doing that for you. On the other hand, head master cover everything for her if something went wrong."

" No one lay a finger on it. People hold it in high esteem for its sacred meaning."

"You mean that Kid is not qualified. Since when do you get the power to judge others?" Suzuki Sonoko's voice became sharp, she never learned her lesson especially when it came to Kaito Kid, she would automatically sign up for his debater.

"No......far from that." Rosalee's eyes sagged. " I am certainly sure that he earns the honor. The true is I believe he is the only person in the whole world who has the chance to own the glory."

"As you all know, we all urge to recruit fresh blood into our bloc, that is another endless story yet to tell. Anyway. Let's be back to the topic.

"Seldom do people sign up for more than one contest. Greedy for a while, lost all his flesh. Everybody knows when to stop their desire if one still awake. If you won one contest, you will be the center of flashlights, the new star on every newspaper, but if you lost your next contest, you will be cursed and never reverse."

" You must be kidding! Since when do you believe in that sort of things? Curses?" Inspector Nakamori yelled. "Well, whether you believe it or not, you will still be criticized as a greedy loser after failing the contest." Melissa said.

" I get it, if......if Kid stole the crown successively, he proved himself the best magician to the whole world in the same time. Don't be silly, Kid is not that kind of person bored enough to use this to prove himself. But as vindication of his ability to blend it."

" I agree with the inspector. Kid is too proud of himself to decorate himself with the secular glory or honor." Kudo continued.

" Right now we have to arrange our crew to certain spot, the exact number of officers. We need their ID in case somebody mix inside. Please hand out the report this evening, Melissa, you're responsible in communicate with those officers' investigation, no one can ever castigate us for not cooperate with the police. As for Mr. Aiyama, I need you to inform every member in the core group. You sure it is not just some jerks' prank right, Mr. Kudo?" Rosalee turned right faced Kudo Shinichi, other crews and officers were back in their work. 

"I do not know anything. I only wish Kaito Kid will not show up."

Door was opened, agent Takagi Wataru was surprised to see Kudo and the others.

"The chess competition is finished. We have a winner."
