At that time there was a sense of danger in the air.
Eventually, Kuroba Kaito nodded his head, so fast that Kudo suddenly felt like all the hostility and distances were just his own misunderstandings. While Kuroba Kaito just wandering around the street corners, Kudo racked his brain trying to find the common topic. He genuinely did not know what all of those normal students used to chat about. As for Kaito, this was much easier.
"So how is your investigation going on? Aoko told me a little about it." Kuroba Kaito swept over clothes and shirt row by row.
" What is the size? " He asked. Good question. Kudo did not know. Fun facts, usually Kudo was the smartest or the shiniest spot light in the crowd, but somehow he presented like a total idiot in front of this teen.
"Well, let's narrow it down, shall we? I'll take 34 for her, Ms. Mori Ran was not too thin, and similar to Aoko. I'll take this one, in cash, thanks. Yes, you too. Have a nice day."
Kudo looked into Kuroba's kindly and mild smile to the clerk. Good memory. He thinks. Only took him one time to remember Ran's full name. Wait, had she ever introduce to him?
"Oh wait......I wanna grab some coffee, mind if you wait for me just a second?" Kudo stopped by the vending machine across the road. " Sorry, bad habits. I get used to grabbing one while I am thinking something." He explained.
" Want one?"
" No thanks. Black coffee just not my cup of tea." So was the detectives, Kuroba thought, shaking his hand. " Latte? Cappuccino? You can add more milk or sugar if you want, just based on your preferences. "
"No..... Sweet tooth."
" So that coffee I......it was for someone else."
" Yes, I bought it though." Short and sweet. Kudo knew his place. That conversation was certainly dead. Apparently, Kuroba Kaito intended to keep distance with him. To be frankly, Kudo couldn't be sure what reasons was the true factor that he chased Kuroba to here. Was it because he tended to be Kuroba's friend or simply wanted to be with someone who look like Kid? He was certainly not Kaito Kid. First of all, wrong age, and the second evidence was the wrong atmosphere, Kuroba Kaito did not bring out the proper sense which performed wild, arrogant and immense confidence, and Kuroba Kaito obviously avoided him by contrast. Every compliment was sarcasm. Kudo Shinichi pushed the button again and again, but there were no beverages coming down. He tried to press harder, that just wouldn't budge. Maybe something stuck up there, Kudo bend down try to look upside down, then the only thing he could see were those slender, perfectly straight legs. Vending machine in the end conquered by Kuroba Kaito's technical twists and strikes.
" You don't want to go by the books when dealing with this you know." Was that a taunt? Kudo stood up and took over the cane. " You know that was illegal, right?"
" Yep, and you can still keep the change." Kuroba didn't even look at him. Not only a taunt, more like a mark.
"I know a guy who knows the rope just like you."
"Who?"
"Kaito Kid. Or maybe you should said Lupin( Special movie, you guys can go and search.) Dressed like Kid, technically. But they are both thieves." Kudo could not help expressing his temper through the cold tongue.
" Sounds like you have many talented competitors. Do you catch them?"Kuroba asked. Seriously, was he joking? Kudo Shinichi stared at him.
"I think you will surely know if that day really come."
"Maybe you never arrest them. But there are certain moments you win. You nearly catch them, but eventually you let them go intentionally." Kuroba said. Mad as Kudo, had never been treated so rude before, tightening his fist. Was he referring I was accomplices?
