Carefully looking around, the larger one followed the golden boy. Hoped that the monster wouldn't find them here, because he didn't really want to duel with it. Paying attention to where he was going, he looked around. In some places less light came in here from somewhere further and still Golden Guard activated his staff so the red light completely illuminated the cave.
They were at different heights and yet there seemed to be a flat surface below, probably the beast's bed. On the walls were crystal-like stones that reflected the red light from the staff. In some places there were bones that made Darius turn up his nose in disgust. In fact there was a strange smell in the air, but it was still bearable for the Drama King. Golden Guard was in front of him, stepping forward cautiously or jumping down the differences in altitude, constantly looking for something that might grab their attention.
Soon they were on the flat surface. Now they advanced even more cautiously. Strangely enough, there were even more bones lying around and some tree trunks as well. Whatever was living here was probably building a really weird looking nest out of tree trunks. "Not really cozy," muttered Golden Guard. Darius nodded in agreement. "Definitely not."
They went on, the flat area was more extensive than expected and Darius noticed that they were now deeper than expected in the cave. "Wait.", Darius said suddenly, took a few steps forward and held his arm in front of Golden Guard's chest so that he had to stop. Even though he was wearing a mask, Darius could almost see the questioning expression the boy should have on his face. "Turn off your staff.", He ordered the younger one who actually listened to it. As soon as the red light went out, they both noticed the golden light that was reflected here in the deep cave. "I thought so.", Darius said from himself, who had just noticed something glittering golden. "The light must be coming from somewhere," noted Golden Guard. Darius nodded and so they continued on their way together, following the glowing golden light.
Now they finally seemed to have found what Belos had been looking for. Finally they were at the source, the light that was reflected by the crystals came from something that was under a pile of leaves. In many places the bright light shone out, drawing their attention to the hidden object.
"What is under there ..", Golden Guard thought aloud and knelt next to the pile of leaves, put his staff aside and then carefully pushed the leaves aside, layer by layer. Darius watched him over his shoulder and then they both finally saw what had been hidden under the pile. A long oval shiny gold thing, to be more precise it looked like an egg, which must have come from this creature from outside. "An egg?" The golden boy uttered confused. It was bigger than the Golden Guard could carry, so Darius helped out and picked it up without further ado. "That will be what Belos wants," said the older one, while the younger nodded in agreement. "Yes, but why?" He thought out loud again whereupon Darius just shrugged his shoulders. Golden Guard grabbed his staff again and stood up.
At that moment there suddenly sounded a terribly loud roar right behind them and when they both turned around they saw a huge monster that was already threateningly showing its teeth. "Get away quickly!" Darius shouted and ran, Golden Guard followed him. The monster did the same with a loud roar. While running, the golden boy jumped on his staff, let it fly high and helped Darius, who was holding the egg tightly on top of it. So they flew up the cave quickly, always avoiding the claws of the monster that followed them.
"Faster !!", Darius shouted who now partially held the egg with his Abomination strength to hold on to the staff as well. At the same time he also attacked the being so that they got more time to get away. "I'm already trying!", Said Golden Guard actually a little stressed and steered his staff in a zigzag-like course so that it was more difficult for the monster to follow them. They were quickly out of the cave and now flew over the forest. But the monster began to throw trees and stones at them. It was a stormy flight.
Golden Guard actually managed to accelerate their flight speed again, but unfortunately the monster went one better and before either of the two could react, the huge creature jumped up and took out its claw. They both were thrown away a few kilometers and lost their grip on the staff ..... everything went black after that.....
